This is another common question, asked for much the same reasons as the previous. While we do not offer data recovery services, it may be possible to recover a message under certain circumstances. If the message was recorded on a tape and no additional messages have been recorded since the message was deleted, then it may be possible for a magnetic data recovery company to recover the message. If additional messages have been recorded, however, then it is possible that the message has been overwritten.

I have this machine, once you delete a message it is gone. Maybe you can pay someone in the FBI or some other Gov't agency to try to get it off the digital chip but it would have to be a very very very important message.

Otherwise...
I just lost 57 special messages that I had saved for years to follow up on, and learned the hard way (if you haven't come across it yet):
From page 6 of manual:
INSTRUCTIONSFOR MOVINGTHE ANSWERER... 3. Go to the electrical outlet and unplug the power supply. DO NOT UNPLUG THE POWERJACK CONNECTED TO THE UNIT. If you do, all memory will be erased.I wasn't even moving the power adapter to another place, the jack just came a little loose when I accidentally moved machine across the table, and all the messages disappeared.A very poor detail in an otherwise (in my experience) well-designed machine.Manual's page 6:http://www.fixya.com/support/p129719-ge_29869ge2_digital_answering_machine/manual-13322/page-6
