Yamaha VStar 250 fuel drain hose location

A black hose about a foot long fell off my m'cycle. It's the fuel drain hose, I was told. It probably was connected by a clamp. I can't afford the manual, but does anyone know exactly where this gets hooked up to without taking apart the seat and cap covers to locate?? Many thanks!

SOURCE: Yamaha Virago XV700 - 1987 Seat Removal

Most Yamaha models have 2 bolts holding the seat on, usually located between the top shock mounts and the side covers. You should be able to find them without too much trouble, but remember- they are metric. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: 2003 yamaha v-star 1100 gas cap assembly

You are probably not going to find assembly instructions. If you can't find all the parts or screws then get another cap. Google " motorcycle salvage yamaha " and you can probably find one at a much lower cost than the dealer would give. By the way, forget any loose screws in the gas tank. The stuff can not get past the fuel valve and filter and are not going to hurt anything.

SOURCE: 1985 Yamaha xj700 Maxim- Carb. fuel lines

yes, the breather line hooks to the petcock on the line facing the back, the fuel line hooks to the larger one. the line from the breather is actually a vacume line that turns on the fuel, without it you will not get fuel out of the petcock unless it is in the prime position.

SOURCE: How can I remove the rear seat of a Yamaha Virago

The rear seat is held in place with a single bolt near the rear of the seat. This bolt is normally a socket head type (you use an allen key to remove it), is near the centre of the rear fender and also usually holds the rear rack or grab bar in place. Once the bolt is removed you may need to shift the rear of the seat sideways one way or the other in order that the tab on the seat clears the grab bar or luggage rack. The front end of the rear seat is secured under a tab so after removing the single bolt, simply slide the seat toward the back of the bike and it will come free.

SOURCE: I have a yamaha roadstar 1700 need to know how

Your bike takes a little over 4qts of oil. The engine drain plug is located on the lower left front of the motor. The oil tank drain plug is located on the bottom of the oil tank, on the right side of the bike.
When refilling, put in about 2.5 quarts of oil in the tank and start the bike and run it for about minute and blip the throttle a few times. Then add the remainder of the oil. Run the bike to operating temperature (approximately 15 min) and allow it to idle for about 3 minutes. Then check the level after a minute or so and adjust as necessary.

Yamaha 1978 750 Special Fuel Leaking Problem

These type of fuel shut offs do not have a manual off position. They are automatically operated by engine vaccuum when working properly. They have malfunctioned and allowed fuel to overflow into the airfilter box(the black box) untill repair time use a long piece of hose to connect the large outlet of each shutoff to eachother or plug the end of two short pieces. The carbs have a drain screw on the very bottom of each facing left , right or straight down. you could also drain the carbs however once the fuel supply is cut to them they should not leak any further. Leave the carb fuel hoses from the tank disconnected. You should drain the tank by siphon and the residual gas that is already in the air box can be drained from the hose on the bottom of the box. This is a mess but once you get all this drained it should stop leaking

I have a 2002 yamaha vstar classic that had been sitting up for awhile. i changed the plugs fresh fuel and cleaned the carbs. when it sits on the kickstand it spits and sputters but when i stand it up it...

Thank you for the inquiry.
This sounds like the classic problem we all have after storing our bikes all winter. The gas tends to shellac up and leave residue in the carburetor, jets, sediment bowls, and filters. Suggest draining your gas (use it for your lawnmower) and replacing with fresh higher octane premium gas. There are some fuel additives that clean quite. Try one of those. Change your fuel filter. You may also have to remove the carburetors sediment bowls and clean the shellac out of the pilot jet, normally not necessary. If you haven't had a tune up for a while that would also be a good idea.
Happy cycling,

Where does the oil come out of a 2004 Yamaha 1100 VStar Classic

Oil drain plug is located near the bottom of the engine, left side toward the front. The oil filter element is located on the right side of the engine under the cover toward the front. Changing the oil filter usually requires removal of the front exhaust pipe. There is an aftermarket filter relocation kit that replaces the filter element with a spin on filter that mounts on the front of the bike.
