Go to your control panel and find your device panel. Then look for your sound devices. once you are in your sound panel find your built in mic, right click and click on test. If you aren't getting a response, close out this window and right click on the built in mic again, click on properties. adjust the sensitivity, and test again. play with it until you get a response. If you cant get a response at higher sensitivity you should just buy an external microphone for skyping.
The hard drive that is installed in the V20 laptop is a 30 Gb IDE capacity hard drive.
The smallest IDE hard drive that you can purchase today is in the order of 80 to 100 Gb capacity. The BIOS in the V20 may not be able to support a hard drive this large.
If you install a hard drive of this capacity the BIOS may not detect it or it won't allow you to access the full capacity of the hard drive.
I have a Samsung V20 for many years and I know it doesn't support a wireless connection built in. But if you connect a USB like myself you can have access to the internet wirelessly. The flikering on the screen are you sure you haven't got a screen saver switched on, you may have it set to a clear black screen and like you say have to tap the keyboard and it comes back to life. It may also have hibernation switched on which will automatically turn off the screen have so many minutes you can change all these setting by right clicking on the desktop and selecting properties and under the screen saver tab there will be a power btton you should see hibernation and other tabs across the top these can be altered to whatever you want.
