Accessing the email via your wireless hand held could be done in different ways. One could need an enterprise data package but the other one does not
1. Access of email via the internet browser of your phone. 2. Access your email via the mail client saved in your phone.
If you're connecting your phone via the access point of hot spot using the WiFi of the phone to gain internet access, then there's no need for you to have an enterprise data plan.
However, if you would like to connect to the internet via your wireless provider, then, you will need the enterprise data plan, so that you could have a reliable internet connection. And you could access your email account.
Email account can be accessible via Web mail or mail client of your phone. If you would like to set the mail client of your phone, you will need to decide whether to create a POP or an IMAP account.
You can also have additional info through your wireless provider.
Hi, Here is the procedure for subscribing to packet data: Menu--settings--connectivity--packet data--packet data settings--edit active access point--packet data access point. Once you are at this point you will be required to type in a name for your access point: Type in "Internet" and then save your settings and exit back to standby screen. You should now be able to browse the internet. Best wishes, Graemevm
Make sure your subscription covers the desired service(s), and that the selected carrier (e.g. GPRS/EDGE) is available in the area. If you still have problems sending or receiving MMS (picture messages) or accessing the mobile Internet/WAP on your phone, you probably need new settings installed. Go to your mobile carrier website and follow the instructions to receive the settings in an SMS message. You can also contact your operator for the correct settings.
NOTE : There may be a charge to use your handset as a modem for your home PC
There are a number of ways to do this but to start off with you need to make sure that the handset itself can actually access the internet Settings can be obtained from your network. Once you have checked the settings with your network provider then the most simple way to connect is by USB. firstly we need to check that your phone is correctly setup
1. Go to the main menu 2. Select Settings 3. Press joystick left so that you get to the connectivity menu 4. Select USB 5. Select USB Internet 6. Select Turn on then OK 7. Select USB data accounts 8. In your list of accounts select the one that your network provider setup with you ( If it was already setup select the account that has interent after it , you may have a picture message or mms option do not select these it will not work ) 9. Now return to your standby screen
That is your phone now setup. Using the USB cable and sony erricson PC suite software included firstly install the software then connect the USB cable to PC and phone. After a few seconds your phone will provide you with a list of options select phone mode. after a while you will see the globe symbol on your phone and your PC will show it is connected to the interenet . Happy browsing .
