All I can tell is that I can't get anything but a blue screen. No login at all. It happened after uninstalling a small program, and then shutting down the computer.
The only thing i know to be named "Program Files" is a default folder created upon installing the OS. It wouldnt be a program, its a folder where the programs you install are stored by default. if you did delete this folder, you may no longer have a working OS, and might need to reinstall your OS.

Uninstall it if you need the space. You haven't used it in 4 years.
If space isn't an issue, leave it there. You never noticed it before and it doesn't appear to be running anything detrimental to your system.
SOURCE: Windows Explorer Details View problems.
Usually, the view is determined by the type of files within the folder. For example, when you are in the My Music folder, the Details view gives you columns like "Artist" and "Album", etc, whereas the My Documents folder has the more generic "Name", "Size", etc.
However, if you right click upon any column header (that's where it says "Name" or whatever), a menu comes up that allows you to choose which columns are displayed. And once you change a particular folder to display, THAT folder will then display those columns until you remove them. But any other folder will default to back to the standard settings unless you manually change it yourself.

Friend,
It is an indication that Windows is about to crash. You must do the following immediately:
1. Back up all your data if possible to a different drive. Or at least out of C:\Windows folder where MY Computer resides.
2. Go to www.ccleaner.com. And download CCleaner, the registry cleaner. What happens is that all programs registry themselves with Windows Registry. When yo uninstall the some do remove their traces from the registry, most do not. And the registry keeps bloating. This not only slows down the PC but also can cause a crash when a lot of junk is there. So use this CCleaner and remove all the junk from the registry. And you may not have to reinstall Windows. And if you have to then you have to and are prepared for it by having taken a backup of your data.
Testimonial: "Thanx a lot for ur help i will reinstall my OS & hope that the problem doesnt occur again. I really like ur quick response & keep the good work going."

Make sure you are logged in to an account with administrator privileges.
Click Start, click Run, type "msconfig", click OK. In System Configuration, click the Startup tab. Uncheck anything relating to Roxio Media Manager. Click OK and reboot.
Be very careful when dealing with the registry. Most registry cleaners do more harm than good if not used carefully. The "Delete everything I find" attitude often leads to a slower computer than when you started.
Here is a
simple way to access Windows XP with Administrator rights and privileges if you
have password protected your User account on your Windows XP system and can't
remember the password(s) to login. Whenever Windows XP is installed on a
system, it creates a default account called "Administrator" and by
default this account is not password protected. Therefore, if you bought a
brand name computer (such as Dell, HP, Compaq or Sony)or you have installed
Windows XP yourself. You should be able to login to the computer through the
unprotected.
You can log on as an administrator to assign a
new password to your account. To do this, try Method 1.
Method
1:
Switch ON the PC, boot the PC in 'Safe Mode' by continuously tapping F8 button
after you switch on until you get the Safe Mode Option.
Let windows boot in Safe Mode and log in to windows.
Click through several self-explanatory
screens until your reach the familiar 'Welcome' screen.
Note that
this welcome screen is limited to 256 colors and 640x480 resolution because the
primary graphics will have been set to the Windows Safe Mode software VGA
adapter. You will not be able to change this mode even in Display options, while
Windows is running in Safe Mode.
Find
the icon for the Administrator user. If the default settings of your system
haven't been changed, there should be no password for this account.
Continue on
to the User Settings control panel. Here you can change any of the other
passwords for user on the machine. Make any changes you want.
Reboot your
computer. As
long as you don't press any keys (e.g. F8) during the boot-up the computer will
startup normally.
If Method 1 is unsuccessful try Method 2.
Method 2: Reset Windows Password with SmartKey Windows Password Recovery.
Download SmartKey Windows
Password Recovery from SmartKey Password Recovery Official site
Decompress the SmartKey Windows
Password Recovery and note that there is an.ISO image file. Burn the image file onto a blank CD with
the burner.
Insert the newly created CD into
the locked computer and re-boot it from the CD drive.
Boot the PC with the CD Rom and
Run the SmartKey, a window pop up with all your account names(if you have
several accounts) select one of the accounts that you have forgotten its
password to reset it.
Just one press, you have removed the password.
The ultimate guide to password recovery and management provides many methods to recover passwords from windows accounts and also windows programs, such as microsoft office and instant messengers, and also websites.
