Question about Heating & Cooling

I bought a new ao smith gf 2054 motor for my furnace and it keeps running even when set to auto

The heat comes on, but the fan always blows, and I don't remember the old moter doing that. It keeps the house temp at about 75, but when the fan just keeps blowing it seems like if I set it lower to like 68, the fan would blow cold air until the furnace kicks back on. What is RC to RH?

HI
automatic temperature switch out of order...When switched to on does it make heat or is ir just the fan blowing? Take the first cover off thethermostat and see if there is a jumper wire from RC to RH. If not you need to add one. Also, the heatdoesn't come on instantly like the A/C, it takes a couple of minutes for the pilot to lite, the burners to come on and then the time/temp delay relay will click on the fan motor, this may take a few minutes.

If there's no grease fitting (ball bearings), remove the endbells and manually force grease into the bearings. On sleeve bearings use oil (2in1 oil is ok).

BLOWER NOT KICKININ ON A NORDYNE FURNACE

Do you have 120 volts applied to the motor? Try spinning the blower wheel by hand, if this getsbthe motor running the capacitor must be replaced. If there is power to the motor and does not start up, the motor will have to be replaced.

I had a new motor installed for the pool pump and it keeps blowing the breaker. The pump is a AO Smith SQ1102. We have a 20 AMP breaker dedicated to the motor. The pool comes on for about 30 minutes a

How long has it been since you have the new motor installed? Did it work after the job was completed? Very possible that the starter circuit has failed, usually when it comes on and runs but overheats and stops, the starter and run circuits are both engaged and that causes it to overheat. If you can read the wiring diagram on the motor and make sure it it correctly wired, you may save it if it is a simple loose wire. Otherwise it sounds like you will have to have whoever changed it come back and do a warranty repair.

You didn't indicate exactly what AO Smith motor model you have, but most likely it's Capacitor start/run if it doesn't have a switch. The important thing is to replace with the same MFD as the old so you have the same starting characteristics.
