Your fluid, known as Ethylene Glycol needs replaced in the picture tubes. Normally just the green and blue need done. This is what keeps the face of the tubes cool and after time just like your anti freeze in your car it breaks down and needs replaced. It turns what we call "beer brown". At Philips, we were charging $279.00 to do this. Today, places are charging anywhere from 200-300.
You can carefully remove the rear top cover ( make sure it's unplugged) and carefully wipe the dust off the projection lenses and mirror and inside screen and stay away from the electronics and capacitors.Years of dust build up can blur the picture and give it a glarey picture.
pool the cover from around the screen off .loosen the screws on the top and bottom ,on the right take all the screws out slide the bar up and completly off .the 3 screens slide right out off the gruves.clean the clear cover screen ,the bulbs ,and the mirror with windex . then put it back together ,it makes a differance
