Question about Lexicon Omega Desktop Computer Recording Studio System

Installing omega lexicon desktop recording studio

I am trying to install Omega Lexicon desktop recording studio on my computer. My computer has lots of space and was built recently. When I try to install the program it says: to install the driver the device must be plugged in when the installer is run. Please insert the device and run the installer again. I have done this over and over. I did the power supply and the usb connections but no luck. Thank You

    i have this exact problem

I have the same problem it says that it doesnt find the ASIO driver

  • guitarbob46 Mar 08, 2008

I'm running the Lexicon Omega with a new Dell XPS. When the Omega works, it functions perfectly w/ the ASIO drivers.... BUT!!!!... 10% of the time the drivers are spontaneously uninstalled.... this is a random event. I may have to restart the system 2-4 times to get the drivers recognized by the system, and then it works ok for a long or short time.

I have a friend who had the same problem with an Audigy Audio Buddy

that worked fine with windows XL but as soon as he ran it on VISTA the problem was there. He says he had to get new drivers.

am having trouble installing the omega's drivers. For some reason, the installation software thinks my Omega isn't plugged in. Of course, it cannot install successfully. My computer recognizes it and automatically starts looking for the drivers. It has looked for them online and I did a manual search for them in the installation software, but it couldn't be found. I have installed the omega in the past and have used it many times. Something happened and I did an uninstall and have been unable to reinstall since. HELP! Thanks!

Hello i opened my lexicon omega and the cd wont download, i have tried a number of things but it keeps coming up with stienberg softwear, i have registered but the lexicon omega will still not load onto...

The software is by Stienberg and is called "Cubase" that is delivered with the Lexicon. The Omega doesn't really have any software to speak of except for the drivers. Browse the software disk looking for the section containing the drivers. When you install it, it will create a Lexicon folder with the root of your C drive and in it will be an Omega folder. In that is a driver folder and a folder of help files. In the Driver folder folder you will find the installer file "Omega Setup". Launch that program to install the drivers. Please note I have one of these and it can be frustrating to get things working. Make sure in the PC in the control panel "sounds and devices" that under the tabs that the Omega is the device to send and receive and for voice. Once you have done the install, the Omega should be in the list of available devices to select as default.

You can reset your Omega by powering on the unit while holding down the Mic USB button and the Line 3 USB button.

WDM Driver failed to install is the first of four

Make sure you verify that your computer meets the requirements for the Omega. I have one of these and it installed on an XP with no problem.

Maybe you have Vista instead of XP. OFTEN there are incompatibilities of Vista. If you have that or heaven forbod Windows 7, you may either need a different WDM or have to backstep to the XP operating system.

In short, VERIFY the requirements of teh Omega and its software with the OS and system you are trying to install it on.

A last thing to try is to install it while in "SAFE MODE".

Omega Studio won't record to computer

The omega is like an external sound card. It has to be connected via your computer with a device driver, the software that came with the lexicon. Then you record on a software program such as Cubase.
Go to the guitar center for more help or go to google .com and type in lexicon omega. Lots of sights to look for answers or better yet go to lexicon omega's home site.

Computer type

My experience is that it doesn't work well on ANY computer. I would steer clear of the Omega. I have had one and have had nothing but grief.

That being said it "should" work theoretically.
