What I would do is clean area with air (wear safety glasses) then I use a spray type of dry lubricant on the threads and also the plates that the motor slides on. You can also use WD-40 in a pinch. Hope this helps

When I lower the blade on my table it sticks and then drops?

I have an old Craftsman table saw that had this problem. I read the owners manual for your saw and it suggests cleaning and lubricating the height adjustment screw threads with grease. I found that grease is not a good option with all that sawdust blowing around so after cleaning the threads thoroughly I lubricated them with Dri-Coat. It comes in a spray can and does not attract the sawdust like grease would. This should take care of your problem. Let me know if you need a source for the Dri-Coat spray.

Blade is slightly closer to fence in back causing the material to kick back.

Hi Ken,
Sounds like you need to to adjust your fence.I use the blade from a combination square.Place the steel blade next to the saw blade(between the carbide teeth).Next loosen the fence lock, loosen the two hex bolts on the rear pinion assembly so that the fence can move side to side.Move the fence up to the combo blade and adjust the fence and lock the fence lock.Check for blade and fence for true.Tighten the hex bolts at the rear pinion bearing assembly. Thank You for choosing FixYa.com.

How to raise and lower saw blade

You raise and lower the table plate, NOT the blade. There is a knob to lossen and tighen the tension on the table plate and you can adjust the blade height by lowering the plate and vice versa.

The blade is not sqare to the front of the table, with the fence next to the blade there is a 1/8 inch differance. how do i adjust the blade or the motor/shaft

you don't adjust anything but the fence if I understand the question correctly. You are using the fence for a straight cut and there is a gap, if so on the back of the saw UNPLUG SAW FIRST you will find a schematic about hhow to adjust the fence but all you have to do is loosen the 2 bolts where the arrows are I believe they are 10MM and lift the guard out of the way then gently run the fence next to the blade and "push" the fence square to the blade and tighten the bolts, usually it takes a couple times (I always recheck it). Now if the blade set at 0 degrees is not square you reset the angle from the front. Let me know if you need more help

My Bosch 4000 blade will not go down any farther than an inch above the top of the table.I have checked and cleaned all the gear area and can see nothing that is causing it .

First of all, love the saw. As good as portables can be, the 4000 is really great.

Now, just remedied the blade height adjustment problem, here is how:

Unplug saw.

Removed blade....not easy when you cannot raise the blade, flip the saw upside down and remove the plastic shield, turn saw upright and remove blade.

Used my compressor with blower attachment and blasted all of the dust out of the gears and screw rods with saw upright and upside down, bevel saw to 45 degrees to gain more access..

Sprayed quite liberally with silicone spray lube and gently worked blade height adjustment, adding more lube, cranking wheel, more lube....blade adjustment now works like the day I bought the saw.

DO NOT USE WD40 or the like. This will just attract more dirt in a very short amount of time.

We'll see how the silicone spray holds up.

Good luck,
RjW

How do I align the saw blade with the saw table I have a 10 inch Delta Contractor's saw that is about 10 years old. The blade is not straignt with the miter slot. andyc@bergeralllied.com

The Blade Arbor is held to the bottom of the table with mounting screws and stop/adjusting screws. Loosen the mounting screw and adjust the stop screws to make Blade true with miter slot.

Blade Alignment?

ok yep your blade is out of alignment with the fence. It is closer to the fence at the rear than the front. You need to make the modification or adjustment to your fence, if it allows that, and then worry about the miter slots later (which should be adjusted miter slot to blade, not miter slot to fence). You might be able to adjust the miter slot to blade by moving the actual table and then securing witht he table mount bolts. Check your manual for how to align the fence.

You do want to fix that though as it can be potentially dangerous and result in kickback of the workpiece which is a rather SCARY thing, and very dangerous.

Bought model 3400 skil table saw. have no manual. can't find control for tilting blade. how do i tilt blade

This model does not have a knob on the side.
There is only a locking lever on the front next to a single rotating wheel for height adjustments. To tilt the blade simply twist the locking lever to the left and push the height adjustment wheel to the right. It can be a bit stiff at times to move.

Blade Height

Basic saw safety dictates that the blade should barely clear the thickness of the material being sawed. This has saved my fingers more than once, Also, make sure you use a push stick for thin rips. They are a lot easier to replace than fingers, and are easily made from scrap stuff. As for the blade diameter, you want to use a 10" blade, but on occasion a smaller blade can be used, just be sure the arbor doesn't rub against the bottom of the table. Dado blades for 10" saws are usually only about 8" in diameter.
