Re: wont turn on
If the power cables are all the way in there and you don't, for example, have the power cable plugged into a wall outlet tied to a light switch that's off, or into a powerstrip that's off, ... this is a good time to figure out if you're under warranty. If you can't get power to it, there's not a lot of options or things to try.

Sure a power switch shut off will not hurt anything but save you on eletric bills. Shoot you could even pull the plug and still get away with nothing happening but if you do not plug it back in then you know what happends then? You just dont print. So sure power button will put you in some great ECOLogistics thats for sure.

If you have access to a a voltmeter, check the voltage at the end of the power cable that plugs into the printer. If you can read the voltage that is usually printed on the power supply, then you have a printer problem.
turn off the printer.
disconnect the printer from the computer.
restart the computer.
conencted the printer after the computer is up, and all applications are loaded.
the computer should inform you the printer is connected.
send a test page to the printer.
HP Support: Try resetting the unit by unplugging the unit while its on, then holding on the # and 6 keys plug the power back in an continue to hold the # and 6. The printer will power itself down, the reset is complete; turn it back on using the power button and attempt a copy. If the unit has never been able to make a copy, it is likely that unit is defective.
