Question about Thermador SGS36GS Gas Cooktop

Thermador Gas Range - Griddle ignition will not spark

I have a Thermador Gas Range PG364GDBS - Oven, 4 burners, and center griddle. All are gas. The four burners and gas oven work fine. The griddle just stopped working, no spark. Turning on the griddle control, the gas valve opens(hear it), gas flows (smell it), but the ignitor will not spark (no loud or faint spark that I can hear). I got a replacement ignition device (mount at the burner) thinking it might be the problem, but still no spark. I checked the AC voltage at the terminal and measured 39 VAC between the terminal and ground. Not sure if that is the correct voltage. Any insights or advice would be great.

I will try to swap the terminal with one of the stove ignitors, but I need to tear things apart.

How do you repair oven that won't fire?

Given that its gas, I would advise you get a competent person to check it out. Propane gas and sparks don't mix. There are things in the owners manual you may feel confident enough to check, if not, leave it to a trained person.

Left burner not lighting

Could be the igniter isn't sparking, sometimes they get cracked and run to earth you will still hear it click. Remove the top plate and check the wiring and igniters, turn the lights off and you will see if it's sparking all over the place.

Thermador has had sudden no gas to whole unit

They may have accidentally turned off a little gas cock which is cunningly hidden on the front panel can\'t remember if it\'s top or bottom, it isolates the gas to the main control valve.

I was given a 36" magic chef gas cooktop with griddle. It was very greasy and dirty, all the burners were sticky and slow to get turned on, but 2 of them refuse to turn on, parts lists say the griddle...

If it's two burners on the same side that won't light, it is probably the igniter for that side. If so, remove the grates, griddle, and griddle sub pan, and then lift up the main "pan (if it's like mine, it's hinged at the back and lifts up). Now, if each burner on that side has a tube going to the middle between the burners, the igniter is in that middle section. Mine is a small plug-in ceramic and metal part (see photo). If yours looks like this, contact me at jazzskier@verizon.net, I have a spare.

I have a viking cooktop with 4 burners and a center griddle. The griddle will not hold heat. It fires up then goes out.

This can be cause dby one of 2 problems.

When you turn the control to turn the Griddle on, does it come immediately or do you have to turn it a long way before it comes on?
.
If it turns on immediatly then it is more than likely the Ignitor

If you have to turn it a long way you have a defective Thermostat

Gas range with stricker burners and oven burner

Most likely the oven will not work because the striker is not coming on. I am not very familiar with this stove but most thermador gas oven uses a electronic igniter. the switch controls both the igniter(striker) and safety solenoid so if neither the striker or solenoid is not powered up the switch may be the problem

Thermador PCS364GDUS griddle needs cleaning.

Wear gloves, put all items in a garbage bag. Put outside and spray a can of easy-off oven cleaner on all parts. Seal bag and let sit for 24 hrs. They should come out looking new after you rinse them off. After you wash them off, put them in a 300* preheated oven for about 30 min to ensure they are dry.
