Question about Cuisinart DGB-600BC 10-Cup Coffee Maker
Program light is green and blinks on off constantly - machine is completely disabled - can't push any buttons to reset the thing.
Purchased this summer - still have original bill.
Unplug for 20 minutes or longer - this one has a longer than normal reset.

The grinder cover has a white pin as a part of the cover that acts as a go between for the plastic molded post on the cover and a contact switch in the unit. Without the cover in place the molded post is not long enough to reach the contact switch and "tell" the machine it's o.k. to brew. It will beep incesssantly and do nothing. Get a replacement cover, or jury rig something to act as a replacement for the grinder cover pin. You can manually push in the switch to get it to stop beeping, but it will spring back out as soon as you release it.
