Question about SanDisk Sansa e260 MP3 Player

1 Answer

No spaces in text anymore

Okay, it's a long story how it got to this, but I had to fix other problems with the player, (by resetting it and updating the firmware) and after I finished re-transferring all 800 songs individually, I turn on the player, and there's no space between separate words anywhere. For example, instead of "The Goo Goo Dolls", it says, "TheGooGooDolls". This is really frustrating, and I don't want to take hours to re-transfer every song again. Can anyone help?

Re: No spaces in text anymore

Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.

My sanza isn't reading any songs that i put on there anymore. I tried to delete the songs but it didn't work. so i tried to format it so i can free up all the space but it said format cannot be completed....

Okay are you talking about the internal memory or the SD disc?
If it is internal memory you could try a reset = Press and hold for 20 seconds the ON and PLAY (>||) buttons at the same time.
If it is the SD did you upgrade your Sanza to support Slot Radio? Slot radio does not use a file structure supported by Windows computer system.

Firmware upgrade not working

Are you absolutely sure that you loaded the firmware for your correct model #? Try downloading the auto-updater software and see if it will take the upgrade on the next go around.

If not, that player is fried - update during firmware upgrade is no good. Call rCA to see if you are still in warranty.

Usually the "50MB of space needed to operate error" is easy to fix, but also most other manufacturers have a specific FAQ on their website that tells you how to fix it. RCA did not have anything like that for this model. also, most other manf. have a recovery tool of some kind - absent on this model.

Hi. Seems like it's time to update your player's firmware. Mine got dislexic too and this is what I was told to do by the Sandisk tech support guys: If you have the E200 "Rhapsody" player (like E260R for example), use this link from the SanDisk website to update your Firmware: If you have the "Standard" E200 player, use this link: It fixed mine. I'm hopin it'll fix yours as well. :)
