Watertank Empty notice when tank is not empty

I took the cover off and flushed the tubing that goes from the resivoir to the white device that flows water to the pump (?)  What could be the problem?

Both have already been checked. Its more complicated than that..

  • dniym9 Dec 07, 2008

I do not think you are giving me instructions on the Saeco Royal Exclusive.  I do not see the 2 metal rods or conductors attached to the machine

  • dniym9 Dec 08, 2008

I cleaned out the o-rings that are under the water container and it seemed like it worked, but now its telling me "brewunit block."
    whats wrong with this thing

  • dniym9 Dec 08, 2008

Marked, Thanks for the detailed response. I followed your steps, but no luck. I also pressed all the other buttons and heard the grinder go and heard the brewunit go through the motions, but I am still getting brewunit block.

I am assuming that is why when it does the self test, it does not sound like its winding up or make that start up noise.

  • dniym9 Dec 08, 2008

I think the watertank empty appears to no longer be an issue. Now its a matter of this brewunit blocked

  • dniym9 Dec 09, 2008

I appeared to have fixed the watertank empty issue, but b/c of it I think I may have shorted out something else and that is why its telling me brewunit block.

Any repair center recommendations in South Florida?

you are hilarious. How about you give up the comedy bit and stick to your day job?

Can one of you explain how to reset the brew unit?

This is a common problem which i have also experienced.this is only due to the vibration of a small 'bullet' like white material inside the system which controls the water flow .try to tight it anyway and you can reduce the noise by allowing a small quantity of water to enter in(by turning the main valve to the low level which will allow the minimum water flow).no need to worry about this

The reset command sequence for resetting the brew to Reset Position is;
1. Close the Door.
2. Press and hold simultaneously the Hot Water and Small Coffee buttons.
3. While holding the buttons down, turn the mode knob to On with Light. At this moment, the screen will show a version number and other numbers. The unit is now in maintenance mode.
4. Release from pressing buttons.
5. Press and hold Medium Coffee button. This will move the grinder into "home" position for extraction and cleaning.

HI
Often the problem is the reservoir sensors think the water tank is empty. The metal rods that go into the white plastic tank are the sensors, and they contact the sides of the machine to provide an electrical ground. The water needs to be normal tap water, distilled water will not conduct...
At any rate, the fix is to simply jiggle the tank left to right to roughen up or clean the contact between the sensors and the body of the machine. Within a few minutes the machine should start to heat up, now that it knows you have water.
Hope that helps!

    OR
Reprime the water system. Remove water filter. Fill tank with water. Turn machine on. Put a container under the steam/hot water wand and open the knob on the front panel. You may need to run half a tank of water through it before it resets. Hope this works for you all

The brew unit sensor may have become disconnected from the main circuit board. If you are very brave, you can UNPLUG THE UNIT, remove the top panel and check that all the wires running into the circuit board are connected.

Otherwise, the sensor may have failed and this will require service.

You can remove the brew group by following the "how to remove a jammed brew group?" on this pagehttp://cerinicoffee.com/Saeco_technical_...

We get the message Unit Cal.Fied - what to do?

You need to run the Decalcyfying program. Push and hold the button with the symbol that looks like a tube with small dots inside. You will get the message empty tray and empty grounds. Do so, and put everything back. The message Solvent or Agent in tank will be displayed. Meassure up 700ml water in a container, put 3 Descaling tablets in the water and let it be completly desolved before you pour this into the empty watertank. It`s very important that you don`t use more liquid, this will make the program run forever. When the solvent is in the tank, push the buttoun again, and the program starts. After a while (20 minutes or so) you will be asked to empty tray/grounds again and to fill the watertank. At this point you can fill up the watertank, this will not affect the running of the program. In the end, you must empty tray/grounds again, and after this the machine is heating up and ready to use. Good luck!

Ventilate message, but no air in system

HI Sorry, but that sounds like a bad flow meter. The flow meter is not that hard to replace, with a little common sense, but the new flow meter should be the brass one. There are some tricks to getting the top back on, Pull forward on the bypass doser chute a little so it will center in the opening. You don't have to disconnect all the wires that go to the top. They are long enough that the top will set behind the machine carefully. Remember the tubes that go to the flow meter. You don't want to get them backwards.

Watertank empty problem

Couple of things.

Magnet in the water tank could have gone bad in which case you need a new water tank.

2. Sensor for the magnet could have gone bad. Which case you need a new sensor.

3. Flowmeter could be dead in which case it won't feed water to the system, If thats the case its a new flowmeter.

4. Pump. If the pumps not working, it won't feed the flowmeter, which in turn won't feed the system. You'd need a pump in this case.

Its one of the 4. Unfortunately its not an exact science, its a trial by error type thing.

Cheapest way is to send it to a service center. They'll know right away when they open it up. They can also diagnose quicker.

Coffeemaker

The Bunn coffee machine has an internal tank used for holding approx three potfulls of water at just below brewing temperature. When you add water for a potful, the thermostat senses cold water and starts the brew heater. The water level inside the tank comes up and goes through the sprayhead. This "surge" of water, that you call drips is normal. The hot water stratifies to the top of the tank, just like an electric water tank in a house. The internal pot heater kicks in and boils the water already in the tank, raising the water level in the siphon pipe to the sprayhead until the reservoir under the add water opening is empty.

Fill Watertank Message

The black thing floating in the water tank is a plastic shell with a magnet inside. If you clean it...make sure you reinstall it with the tapered (smaller) side down. There is a slight size difference BUT it will make ALL the difference in the world.

I had no idea there was a magnet in that black/greyish case. The direction of the casing is important.
I had the same problem and that solved it!
