The red on the digital array will not line up.

The STK 392-110 ,120 and 150 chip sets are known for failing because of heat after around three years normal usage. They can be changed out for STK 394-160e (e is for lead free) chip sets sold by Hitachi authorized dealers. Best way is to buy them in the kit form were they come with both chips and the resistors needed to up grade and fix the Hitachi sets. You most likely will not use the resisters unless you have a Hitachi TV but the chip sets are a bit cheaper to buy this way. there are a few sight that sell then separate also just make sure you get only the factory OEM chips made by Sanyo and not the chips made by any one other as there are a lot of counterfeit chip sets out there and they do not last . Even TV tecs and suppliers have been taken on them that is why to make sure you get only Hitachi dealer authorized parts for this fix so that you do not get the counterfeit chips. Good luck

Do not adjust any knobs as instucted in the previous thread if you TV have a convergence problem. Doing so will only make things worse. The blog does however show you how to fix other common problems with these sets.

Here are some of the most common symptoms and example photos of a convergence problem

• Screen looks 3D
• Colors don't line up
• One or more colors can't be adjusted when using the convergence menu.
• Screen is bowed or warped.

Here is a quick test....

Using your original remote go-to the tv settings then goto the convergence section.

Try to adjust the red and then the blue convergence.



You should be able to move them up, down, left, and right.

You need to replace the convergence chips and convergence resistors. Check the site www.TvRepairKits.com. They have put together a kits for most models. If you don't see a kit for your set send them a quick note and they will put one together for you. Their kits include a photo instruction guide, original OEM Sanyo STK chips, convergence resistors, pico fuses, etc.

Replace both STKs big BL ics 392-110s or 150s.
