Try a different USB port; bypassing my hub solved a similar problem.

I am unable to get my nikon coolpix l11 to install on my computer that has windows xp. I downloaded and installed nikon transfer 1.5.3 for windows and i installed it but nothing happens. I plug my camera...

Consider NOT using the USB connection.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use Nikon Transfer or any other photo cataloging program.

I have a DMC ZS5 and I took pictures in the clipboard setting by accident. Can I get the pictures off the camera on into my computer? I tried connecting it through the USB port but nothing happens.

Put the camera in clipboard mode...the rec/play switch to play. Now the clipboard menu is accessible and gives you the option to copy the clipboard to a memory card.

Cannot download pic.s from camers to pc.

I would remove the memory card and use that to transfer the media to your pc.... I can't tell you why it is not showing up on any of the pc's. The only thing I can think of is possibly the usb cord is bad or that vivicam has special software you need to download. But you can definately get the media onto to your pc by bypassing the usb cord and remove the media from the card and place it in a folder on your pc .. hope this helps... good luck

When camera is in playback mode, press MENU, choose icon on right of screen that says "SET". On second page 2/2 of setup menus make sure USB option is set to DSC (download to pc) and not PC cam (webcam). When connected to computer's usb port, you should be able to browse camera's memory card with windows explorer as if it were a disk drive. Click on My Computer and you should see the camera as drive e:\,f:\ etc. Copy and paste files from memory card to any folder on your computer.

Says camera is not connected to computer

I found this on another site. You have to set the camera itself to Mass Storage mode in order to work with Windows 2000. The steps are below. As soon as I did and plugged the camera back into the USB cable, Picture Project recognized the camera as connected, installed the mass storage driver for it and requested a restart of the PC. Able to access the memory card and download pictures.

On the camera itself, unplug the USB, turn it on and...

Press MENU....
Press ▲▼to choose SETUP...press OK...
Press ▲▼to choose INTERFACE...press OK...
Press ▲▼ to choose USB...press OK...
Press ▲▼to choose MASS STORAGE...press Ok..
Press MENU to exit...
Then plug it back into the USB cable.

Good Luck

Says camera is not connected to computer

I'm assuming that you are using a Windows based machine? If so, try another computer. If the camera is recognized when you plug it in, you have a software / driver issue and it's not in the camera. Just plug the computer into any other computer and don't bother with the software.

Problem .

If you open the part that gives you access to the battery and the memory stick you'll see a small button that says 'reset'. I'm actually not sure what it resets, but you could give that a try.
