Question about Mitsubishi DD-6040 DVD Player
The loading carriage broke and the bottom disc that raises to engage the DVD had come off - which was causing the tray to stay open as it would not close (the disc was in the way). I placed the disc back on the small spindle but now the player will not read a DVD. The laser light does not come on and the DVD will not spin without help. Is it time to buy a new player or can this be easily repaired?

This could be one of three things
1. Dirty reader head:- If you not got one, ge a DVD lens cleaner run it 3 or 4 times see what happens
2. Maybe needs re setting, rather like a PC, unplug, disconect ALL leads leave over night and re connect see, this worked for a friend of mine recently.
3. The reader that locks onto the digital date is corrupt.....time to buy a new one !!
More expensive to repair than replace
