Date and Time for the Zenith XBV442 DVd/VCR player

I cannot get the time to update correctly, it looks like it is on Central time but I do not know how to change the time. I have tried turning on and off the DVD player but this does not help.
thanks

SOURCE: I can not turn off the proggressive scan!

Try this to disabel the progress scan mode: Pointing the remote at the player, press the STOP key to stop any disc that is playing. Next, press the STOP key again and hold it for five seconds before releasing it. This should turn the Progressive Scan off.

SOURCE: DVD/VCR stuck in Progressive scan mode

With NO DISK in the DVD player PRESS PLAY, (display will say "no disk" or something similar) then PRESS STOP AND HOLD FOR 5-10 SECS. Our DVD was stuck on Progressive Scan Mode for over 1 year, this fixed it. I had tried the press stop, press stop and hold while playing a movie, but not while there was no disk. Try it & Good Luck!!!!!!!!

Not likely. They probably just need to be cleaned and re-alligned. Rates vary, but our shop charges $20 to do that.

Probably nothing with the remote, but might be on the Zenith it won't work with. Look to see if the remote sensor area on the player is damaged.

I had to tear mine all apart and clean everything and re-align everything. If you arent a pro you may want to take it to a shop or buy a new one.
