What is an activated carbon filter and what does it do?

Activated Carbon has the ability to trap gas molecules and hold them. The carbon surface is made up of millions of tiny pores, the gas and odors fall into these pores and are trapped there until the pad is disposed. One of carbon filter unique qualities is its large surface area; a single activated carbon filter has a flattened surface area of a football field.

Our SUN AIRE purifiers do not have expensive replacement filters; i.e. HEPA/CHARCOAL OR CARBON. Therefore, we do also do not attempt to just TRAP live contaminates in expensive filtering media. We actually SAFELY purify the air with the allotropic oxygen that comes out of our unit when 02 (air) is circulated around our custom dual frequency UVC lamp.
