Look closely at the control panel there will be abutton marked, control lock, yuoll need to hold it down for 3 -5 secs, its achild lock feature, youre manual will explain if you still have it

To lock/unlock the controls: Turn all surface burners off.
Touch and hold the GAS/CONTROL LOCKOUT pad for 3 seconds until the display shows LOC.
To unlock the control, touch and hold the GAS/CONTROL LOCKOUT pad for 3 seconds until LOC disappears from the display.
