When trying to scan pics etc I get an error message telling me scanner is not connected? Its an all in on if one part is connected they all should be. How can I ge tthe scanner part to work. I have checked all the plugs etc.. Unplugged everything , turned on and off etc. Don't know what else to do. Someone told em to uninstall and re-install my software and that might work. Thats fine but I can't find my disc to do this. :(

Did not work. Now tells me there is an error in the imaging software. Now says I need to re-install it. I already said I no longer have the software. :( nor do I know where I can get it. Now it doesn't say it's not connected.

Thanks I am downloading it now. I have dial up and it says its going to take 11 hours to download. So lets see if I can keep a connection long enough to get it. Will let you know.

Hi

I understand the issue, many HP all in one printer can print, but they don't scan. you might a error message "Error occurred while communicating to scanner device..". Before we uninstall the software, we can try resetting the USB composite Devices.Just follow the below steps.

1.Right click on MY computer ->Properties->Hardware->Device manager.

2.You will get Device manager window popping out.

3.Scroll down to "Universal Serial BUS controllers".Click on the (+) sign.

4.Check for the "USB Composite Device" and right click on it, click Uninstall.(IMPORTANT NOTE:WE HAVE TO UNINSTALL THE PRINTER'S USB COMPOSITE DEVICE, TO KNOW WHETHER IS THE PRINTER'S USB COMPOSITE DEVICE, RIGHT CLICK ON USB COMPOSITE DEVICE AND PROPERTIES,look for wat location says, Eg -LOCATION : HP OFFICEJET 6100.

5.Disconnect the USB and reboot the PC.

6.Connect the USB after reboot, you will get popup "Found new hardware".Then the Drivers will be installed Automatically.

Please response after trying this.

Scan to Google Drive, An Internal error occurred. (255)

I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing issues with scanning and saving documents to your Google Drive folder. The error message you mentioned, "An Internal error occurred (255)," typically indicates a problem with the scanning software or the connection between your scanner and Google Drive.
Here are a few steps you can try to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:
1. Check your internet connection: Ensure that you have a stable and reliable internet connection. A weak or intermittent connection can cause errors during the upload process. You can try restarting your modem/router or connecting to a different network to see if that resolves the problem.
2. Clear browser cache and cookies: If you're accessing Google Drive through a web browser, clear your browser's cache and cookies. Sometimes, outdated or corrupted cache files can cause issues with file uploads. After clearing the cache, restart your browser and try scanning and uploading the document again.
3. Update your scanner drivers: Visit the website of your scanner manufacturer and check if there are any updated drivers or software available for your scanner model. Outdated or incompatible drivers can cause scanning issues. Install any available updates and restart your computer before attempting to scan again.
4. Try an alternative scanning method: If you're using specific scanning software, try using a different scanning application or method to see if the issue persists. For example, you can use the built-in scanning functionality provided by your operating system or try a different scanning application altogether.
5. Contact scanner and Google Drive support: If none of the above steps resolve the issue, it's recommended to reach out to the support teams of both your scanner manufacturer and Google Drive. They can provide you with specific troubleshooting steps and assistance tailored to your setup.
Remember to provide them with detailed information about the error message, steps you've already taken, and any specific error codes or messages you encounter during the scanning process. This will help them diagnose and resolve the issue more effectively.
I hope these suggestions help resolve the problem you're experiencing and that you're able to scan and save your documents successfully.

I bought an HP Scanjet G4050 as recommended (by John Lewis?s) for use with my new Macbook Pro laptop bought at the same time. This was somewhat over a year ago, and I have used the scanner lightly, but...

Hi there, you are very near in the solution. Just today i solve the same problem manually. When the system ask this message "where I want the image saved " 1st select the path -- My computer/C:/program file/HP scan jet/ select here the Scanner Icon and press Ok. I mean just follow the location of installation file of your scanner. After that scan the image or else , you will get the success. Thanks & waiting for your success feedback.

ScanJet 5300c didn't work

Most likely the destination folder for the scanning is a shared folder with limited rights. As the administrator, reset the permissions for that folder or redirect the software to a common folder with read/write/creation etc... access.

Also, make sure you are using the HP provided drivers and not those from Microsoft.

Cannon capture perfect 3.0

Check the location where you are directing the scanner/computer to store the scanned image. If it is full, obviously it cant store. Change the location where there is space.
