Question about Hitachi 42HDS69 42 in. Plasma Television

1 Answer

Are there any updates for 42HDS52A?

I bought this TV a while ago, and never registered it. Have I missed any updates? I recently bought a DVD player with HDMI output. My old one did not have this. When I set the player at 1080i the picture stutters. I was briefly teased by the true high def and want to get this all the time. What need I do? DVD is a TH-G30, by JVC.

The input dvd screen says no signal and the DVD player doesn't seem to have any power.

If it is in warranty return it---parts for the DVD unit are not available--they would have to replace the entire DVD unit inside the set.

Sylvania tv not recognizing DVD player

Hi,
Do one thing press the SCREEN MODE button on the remote repeatedly and check is there is any difference in the screen. If there is no difference then yu tv Have problem wit the T Con board, T con board is on which drives pixels the lcd screen. You can find the T con board of your tv in the following link.
Normally you can find the T con board inside the tv at the bottom center covered by metal cover or aluminum foil. Replacing this board will solve the problem.

I was wondering if you could help us with our DVD recorder. Its a Toshiba DVD Recorder Model: D-R18DTKB and up until recently has been in good working order. A while back I bought some Sony+RW...

Hi Tony
Although I am a member of this site I came across your post while searching Google for answers to the same issues as you are having.
From what you say and what I have tried I can only put fault with the DVD recorder itself and probably the LASER.
This thing just seems to hate reading recorded media of almost any format including those which it's stickered front panel boasts about. It also doesn't leave you with many other options as there is no USB port either.
I dont use the unit to record or the Freeview facility and never have as we have Sky+ and no TV ariel.
I bought it for the varied formats of video it says it can play but out of 6 different formats that I recorded onto DVD with my PC (and I am an advanced user and work in I.T) it only played back one and badly which was a mpeg-1.
I put the same 6 disks into my sons (apparantly DVD only) player bought from ASDA for £15 and it played 4 of them perfectly as good as the originals!
Logically this would suggest this model is a Lemon. I just hope your not a £130 light lemon as I am!

Try explaining the problem to the manufacturer. They will help. They may change the software if needed. After the guarantee it will become a payable service.

TV/DVD Combo will not switch back to live TV when DVD is ejected.

I had the same problem with the same unit when I first bought it a few months ago.

First up remove the DVD. If the TV stations do not appear within a couple of seconds press the "TV" button (top, second from left) on your remote control.

Let me know if this doesn't work.
