Remote the remote will only work for a few seconds then stops.have tried 2 remotes with new batteries but both do the same thing.any ideas?

    the remote also works the cable box and that works fine I have tried 3 sets of batteries in both remotes and they all act the same way.The cable box is the second one also and also with a new remote and it does the same thing only to the tv not the box

    Have the same problem. Bought a new original Toshiba remote with new batteries and still have the same problem. Confused!

This is not a solution for this problem, but I have the same problem with my Toshiba. I have proven that the problem is with the TV not with the remotes. I have purchased two Toshiba remotes and they do the same thing, a generic remote does the same thing and the remote from my cable company also acts the same way. Can someone tell me (us) if there is an easy way to change the remote module on the TV. Thanks!!

Do the same remotes function normally ion other Toshiba TVs? Why don't you chech this out first? There is no possibility of the TV causing the above symptom. I can only think that you are using expired batteries.

4) If this does stop it, then look for unexpected signal sources. Have you added a remote control extender? Added a new device to your audio-video system? Changed to a new remote?

START 2 minutes and then turns itself off. Lit WORKS PERFECT STAY 2-3 minutes then Stop again. Now you do not start at all. It's dead!

Using a small test meter, check that you have 1.5v on each battery. Sounds like faulty batteries.
