I installed 2 logitech USB speakers to my HP Pavilion DV6500 Notebook PC and they work great! However, when I unplug them, my regular laptop speakers won't work... They are altec lansing laptop speakers. I've checked the control panel and when I unplug my speakers, it says that no audio devices are installed. Do I need to install new drivers for my speakers? If so, where can I get them for the dv6500? If not, how can I get sound back to my original speakers? :-\ Thanks so much in advance, any advice would be a lifesaver..

Start taking your laptop apart piece by piece and test it after each removed component: 1. Remove the hard drive and test the laptop. 2. Remove the DVD drive and test the laptop. 3. Remove the wireless card and test the laptop. 4. Unplug the display panel from the motherboard/video card and test the laptop. etc.... Continue taking it apart until you have only three major components connected: motherboard (with video card), processor, and memory. If you still experience the same problem, most likely it's bad motherboard. By the way, before you start, try reconnecting the memory module. If you have two modules installed, try removing them one by one and test the laptop with each one separately
troubleshoot for a disconnected wire right below the mouse pad or under the speaker panel. I went through the same problem... it was a disconnection problem. I fixed it myself and never tore a computer apart before. It works great now!
