My Gateway PC (bought in 2005) crashes each time I connect to a wireless connection. The problem began when I installed my home wireless router and now crashes when I try to connect to wifi access in cafes and in offices. I can still connect without problem using a LAN cable.
When I connect to a wifi network (If I am so lucky) I stay online briefly and then my screen goes blue, crashes, and automatically restarts.
What is going on with my laptop? Is it the internal wireless card or is there a problem with my laptop's hard drive? And lastly, can this be repaired without a huge cost? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Jonathan
If i was you i would load up a version of win xp on another hard drive inserted into your laptop, load the drivers for the laptop including wi fi drivers then see if ok. if not you can be sure its a faulty wi fi card in your laptop, you need to disable internal wi fi card remove, replace it.but first try borrow a pcmcia wi fi card just to check if everythings ok
