Question about GE Scroll Mouse

1 Answer

I have just bought a GE scroll mouse with a PS2 connection. Now I have to find an adapter so I can use it USB on my laptop. I have a USB-to-PS2 adapter, but I need one that goes the other way - PS2 to USB. Any ideas where I can buy one of these?.

In any good computerstore or from the net, google "USB-to-PS2 adapter" and you will find a lot of sites selling it

Supermicro SuperServer 5013G-M - PS2 error

Hello here is the homepage:

http://www.supermicro.com/products/system/1u/5013/sys-5013g-m.cfm

Is your Mouse a USB mouse or is it a HYBRID Mouse? Look at the bottom of mouse and see what is written. It should give you the: (1-) Name (2-) Model Number & it will either say: "USB Mouse" or "USB 2.0 and PS2 Compatible". If it is USB 2.0 and PS2 Compatible, then it is a HYBRID MOUSE - You should have a - USB to PS2 - Adapter that came with the mouse.

Use that adapter and plug into the PS2 Mouse port - (only if it is a HYBRID). It will automatically configure itself as a PS2 mouse. Now you will have both your Input devices set as PS2.

(2) - If it is a USB mouse, can you obtain a PS2 mouse to temporarily use? If you can; try using the PS2 Mouse Port?

Now you may have to set BIOS on - with regard to:
(1) - Legacy USB Support -(Either Support or Disable)
(2) - USB settings to what Motherboard supports

Try also to upgrade the drivers/bios, if nessesary.

SET LEGACY USB SUPPORT TO "DISABLED" FOR BOTH MOUSE & KEYBOARD IN BIOS.

Good luck

Yes you can get a ps2 connector to usb. They sell them at Radioshack and some Walmarts. What computer are you using the brand and model? The ps2 connector should fit into the one on the tower, unless its a really old computer.

Laser doesnt work

Check the mouse cord and make sure that it is properly connected to the PS2 port of you computer. Turn off your computer, wait for a few seconds and then power it on. If it failed to function properly, contact the store where you bought it about the problem. The device is cover by its' warranty and they may replace it if found defected.

Hope this could help you..:-) Thanks..

USB Keyboard and mouse wont work with PS2 KVM with adapter

Have you tried rebooting once it is connected? Not sure if it makes a difference, but I know you can not hook up PS2 peripherals without rebooting.

How do i connect my PS2 with my PC

on the back of your computer box, you will (probably) find 2 ports that look like this. the PS2 mouse will be plugged into the green colored port. NOTE: PS2 mice (and keyboards) will only fit into the port ONE DIRECTION, so don't force it! make sure to line it up

once plugged in, you will need to reboot your computer, as PS2 can only be recognized while the computer is starting up.

one final note: some of the newest computers DO NOT have PS2 ports. if this is true of your computer, you will need to get a new mouse, or an adapter, like the one shown below:b6b70e7.jpg

Keyboard intermittent

There might be a problem with the keyboards PS2 port. You can bypass the PS2 port all together by buying a PS2 Y-adapter to usb port. This Y adapter will allow you to plug your PS2 mouse & keyboard into it and than you plug the other end into a free usb port. You do not have to plug the PS2 mouse in if you do not want to. Just plug in the keyboard. If your keyboard functions than there is a prolem with the keyboard's PS2 port. The PS2 Y-adapter to USB runs about $12.00 to $15.00. You can find one at Wallmart.
