is the model number correct? Can't find the details of your television.

Does your tv use digital input? or analog if its analog then you need the box.

If the model number posted here is correct (vs-70707) this is a VZ8 Chassis made around 2000 and should NOT have a reset button on the front.

Please confirm actual model number.

Note: almost all Mitsubishi sets have a hidden menu (two or more) and one allows with the Mitsubishi remote to enter for example the OPTION menu and there you will be able to do a HARD RESET on the set which sets ALL settings back to default.

I HAVE AN OLDER MODEL \LARGE SCREEN MITSUBISHI 1080 TV. THERE IS NO PLACR ON THE TV TO CONNECT THE CABLE TO . IS IT POSSIBLE TO CONNECT CABLE TO IT SOMEHOW?

Not many TV's come without a cable connector. You should double check to make sure there is not one hidden away on the back under a flip up panel or on the side of the set somewhere.

If you can comment back here and provide the exact model number of your TV, I can then bring up the user's manual for it and tell / show you exactly where the cable input connector is on it.

Thank you and take care.

Joe.

I just got cable hooked up and I'm trying to watch tv on an older Orion tv/vhs. When I go to menu options I can go to all of them except the channel set. I know the cable connection works because I hooked...

Try switching between Cable and TV on your menu. Or you can insert a VSH and when you eject it, you should be able to bring up menu and do a reset.
Make sure the cables into and out from are in the correct positions, as a cable signal go to the output will not work.
I'm sure you have checked the connections in and out but just needed to make sure !
Do you have a remote for the Orion, without the remote, you may not have the correct functions available to function properly.

Sounds like the flyback is arching. i would suggest looking the flyback over for signs of arching. You may need to replace the flyback. If you need to know where to get a replacement let me know and I will post a link along with the correct part to order.
