I wanted to add more memory to my Emachine Modle 2888. I pulled the 512 memory card out to check it and put in back in wrong. Do you think I blew the Mother Board?
When I turn the computer on it makes a noise but the monitor screen does not activate.

I'm a bit confused....did you have all four of these in the ACER and are trying to put the 2x1GB into the Emachine? And that the 2x1 GB wouldn't work in the Emachine but they did in the ACER and that the 2x512 Acer cards worked in the emachine?
If that is what happened here is my best guess. The ACER MOBO will support 533/667/800 MHZ DDR2 RAM. The Emachine will only support 533 RAM. Iys possible the 2x1GB are either 667 or 800 MHZ and are not compatible with the Emachine but will work in the ACER.
1024 is 1 gig of ram. Some older motherboards require you to put in ram in pairs but I don't think your system is one of those but if you have manual or can download manual you should check to be sure. If you don't need a pair then yes you can remove the 256 meg stick and add a 1 gig stick or you can put in 2 512 meg sticks. Should run a lot better as windows recommends at least 512 megs of ram.
Yes that's correct simply turn off the power OFF from the computer and to make sure unplug it from the power outlet, then remove the existing 512 RAM and put the new RAM and then turn the power back ON and that's it.....
Did you add the two sticks with the 512 or remove the 512 and add the two 1gb sticks? Try booting the machine with ONLY the 1gb sticks in.
Your machine supports 1gb modules but they can't be higher than 533MHz. Check that the memory you purchased was either PC3200 (400MHz) or PC4200 (533MHz) and is 1.8v. If you post the part number off of one of the modules I can look it up for you.
I'm thinking it's time to add more RAM to it. With the amount of space that's used up i'm imagining that your hard drive light is flashing alot now. I recommend that you put an extra gig of RAM in it. I hope this sorts out the problem for you.
I think I know what you want. The smartcard device plugs into the back of the pc. It's a serial port connection. The memory card plugs into the smartcard device.
I have a question, does your cell phone have a memory slot for the memory card?
