Question about DISH Network DVR-625 DTV Receiver / 100-Hours Video Recorder

4 Answers

60hz hum I have a ViP 722. It has no rf output for TV1, just the hookup for TV2. The multi RCA hookup for HD. HD is not as important to me as is a clean picture and audio on my TV. No matter how I do it, I get a 60hz hum - low volume - but still annoying. I have reverted to my original sd receiver/DVR to eliminate this hum. My system includes: digital cable programming with TIVO; Dish sd Receiver/DVR, a Panasonic DVD/VCR tuner/player/recorder. When I series all my outputs via RF coax from the TIVO to the Dish receiver/dvr to my DVD/VCR tuner/player/recorder to my TV there is no hum. When I introduce connections via RCA video/audioLR I get hum. Without the Dish receiver in my system operating with just digital cable, TIVO, and my DVD/VCR tuner/player/recorder I connect it any way I wish; through RCA out/in or rf out/in. I can also remove my DVD/VCR tuner/player/recorder and connect any which way. I personally would prefer to eliminate HD and stay with standard definition than to eliminate my DVD machine but the lack of an RF output on the ViP722 seems to prevent that without removing my TV2. Any solutions out there?

I tried your solution and all others I could find or think of. The only thing that stopped the hum was to disconnect the HD cables direct to the TV and connect the "2nd TV rf cable out to the rf input of my DVD recorder and then use the rf cable from the DVD recorder out to the rf input to the tv. Any connection using rca connectors induced 60 cycle hum. I even tried to use a hard wired ground wire between all the devices within my system. Personally I find the hum more distracting than anything and HD is not sufficently better to justify the hum.

I have a Polaroid DVD recorder DRA 10601A with analog input from a satellite dish box. If the chosen input source is Analog, I get an awful hum. None of the internet published solutions such as shielded cables or ungrounded power leads would get rid of the hum. I tried them all. The hum went away when I tried a different source route, namely RCA cables from the sat box to the Rear CVBS on the DVD-R.

You have an electrical interfearance somewere so you need to move your rf and rc cableing away from electrical cables and outlets. i also recomend for the rca cables get monster cables cause it will protect it from the 60 herts cycleing.

Why can't I get the DVD player to work? I have it hooked up to a cable box.

im wondering why you did not connect it to the tv ?? but instead to cable box , does it have a pass thru capability ?? does it need to be off to pass thru ?? as most dvd player don't have a rf output but instead use a hdmi or composite signal output , would it not be easier to connect one of these to a spare input on tv then when u want to use dvd you only need to select the proper input from tvs source button to view the dvd ??

Hello, The Original remote quit working, So I bought a RCA universal remote control RCR314WZ. I need the code for (DTA800B1 B1L) converter box. so the remote will control it

Some RCA universal remotes list STB codes but you can try using code search to find something that can handle some or all functions. If a search through all codes contained in the remote does not succeed, you may have to try a different universal remote. All universal remotes do not contain all possible codes.

How could I connect a Daewoo 42sm TV?, I can't afford cable so I use a converter box(analog to digital w/rabbit antenna)on my other TV and I was given this Daewoo TV and would like to watch it;please

If your converter box only has RF outpit connectors "F" type screw on it looks like this my be more of a monitor then tv.I took a quick look at the manual and didn't see any RF inputs so it appears it doesn't have tuners built in Looks like you'll need a box that has RCA output connectors.or others that will match what the monitor has on it for input types
