Question about Compaq Presario Notebook

1 Answer

Will not turn on or charge. It came on once and then went into hybernation within a minute. The power from the cord is 18.8vdc. The charging LED is not lit when plugged in. The charging LED flashes yellow when to try to turn power on. If it needs a battery how do you remove it?

Sounds like battery is naff, normally to remove battery from any laptop their is a slide button underneath or on the side,or on older models a slide cover which you slide down a bit then use the cover to pull the battery out.youll find it.

Hi there. Last night I switched on my Asus A3Ac laptop. Its turned on, and after few minutes it went into hybernate, I pressed all the keys but there is no response. So I forcefully shutdown the laptop....

Try removing the battery and connecting your charger. Press power button for some seconds. Disconnect the charger, reinsert the battery and switch back on. Should work now. Else your power supply is faulty.

1525 wont come out of hybernation and the battery wont hold a charge either. Ive tried removing the battery, pushin the power button, lettin it die n try bootin up. Its stuck in hybernation, help me...

Hybernation is one of the worst idea's that microsoft has come out with, it usually ends up corrupting windows making it useless. The only option is a fresh install of windows, and I recommend the hybernation feature be disabled. The battery may start to charge when the new operational windows is running, if not! replacement needed.

My acer aspire one pav70 went into hibernating mode . how do i get it out of hibernation

It could have gone into hybernation for more than one reason.
Either it has been programmed to or the battery is low. Either way pressing the power button momentarily will get it out, if the power supply is plugged in or the battery is charged.
To remove the hybernation option, right hand mouse click on the battery icone on the desktop and change you power settings.
Hope that helps.

Battery not charging . light comes on power supply but batterlife went down even thogh it was plugged in. now now enough power even to start up

Try turning off your computer, removing the battery for 10-20 minutes, put it back in, and turn it on/charge it. If this doesnt work it sounds like a short in either your charging cord or your battery.
If its still under a warranty then send it to your dealer.

I must have hit a wrong button and my presario 2100 went in to hybernation. I have tried everything to get it on and it will not go on now. I even unplugged the power cord for a while and it still wouldn't...

press F8 on bootup and look for an option asking to "delete the hybernation data and proceed with normal bootup". if not found then select <last good bootup" if that also fails then boot in safe mode. On bootup, go to Start->All Progs->Accessories->Sys Tools->Restore. And restore to a previous date when your PC was working absolutely fine.

Random Hibernation

this sounds like power settings options.

what i can suggest now is that......................

go to the Power Options in the Control Panel and do the following.

  • first uncheck the hibernate option on the hibernate tab
  • use your computer and see if the problem re-appears, go to the control panel and on the power option, select Never to all options when using battery or ac power.
cheers...............
