Question about Electrolux EL7020A Oxygen 3 Ultra Canister Vacuum Cleaner Bagged Vacuum

1 Answer

My EL7020 so call Electrolux!

It comes on and then shuts off in a few seconds. The Bag and filter comes on when it first starts up and then all goes off. Cannot restart. I have taken the silver cover off as you have explained how too. Looked around at the circuit board, the fuse is go of course. What's next. No blockage in the suction openings, hose, etc. I noticed there are 3 circuit board on this model, and two of the verticle installed boards have small white parts small rubber hoses attached. Don't have a clue what they are for. Also under the large main circuit board there is small rubber hose that does not attach to anything. It's just laying there. However it seems to be attached somewhere else. I can't see where. Don't know what the problem with my machine is. You have any idea what is causing it not to stay running.

Thanks! Lew

Check the electrical connections between the hose and the body of the machine, and also the wand connections all the way to the power head. Sometimes a faulty connection can send a false "off" signal back to the main body of the machine, and turn it off; but usually it will restart if that's the case. It sounds like you have a clog somewhere which is tripping your motor's thermal cutout, but you did say there are no clogs... so if you have full suction all the way down to the powerhead that's not the issue. You could have a faulty thermal switch, but I think the likely cause is, as usual; the sumo board.

Good luck. Sorry I didn't have a more concise answer for you.

If you are using the rug attachment, sometimes you have to press the small button, bottom right next to the hose release...think it's some kind of circuit breaker so the piece doesn't overheat or get stuck in carpet.

Why does it start, then immediately stop and bag light comes on?

My epic 6500 starts for a few seconds and turns off. With the filter light on. I take out the filter and it still does it. It only stays on if I cover the filter hole with my hand. Any solutions.

Electrolux el 7020 Canister Vacuum shuts of continuously do i need to Change the Carbon Brushes

How old? If fairly new you should not need brushes, bad brushes would probably not allow the vacuum to run at all. Last time you changed filter? Sounds like the cover to the filter is not closing well enough. There's also possibility you have a clog in the wand or hose.

Electrolux EL7020 SHUTS OFF Constantly!

That problem have 2 causes..#1 is loose electrical connection inside or on the power cord..#2 is worn out carbon brush inside of vacuum motor..

Carbon brush is the one of the most serviceable parts of a vacuum cleaner because our vacuum cleaner motor is very hard working parts so the brush inside will possible worn or not connected to the armature of rotor...

Electrolux Model 2100 vacuum won't work

hi from uk may i suggest you remove cover and the new dust collection bag then if you look in the bag compartment there is a gauze filter fitted usually grey in colour ? at opposite end of compartment where bag connects this gauze filter is the outlet from bag compartment that the air exhales when vac is operating ie as vac **** up dust into bag the bag has microscopic holes that allow sucked up air and dust to collect but keeps dust from passing into bag chamber but allows air to escape thro holes and so enter bag chamber then escapes via the gauze filter to outside of vac hope you follow this ?? now if this filter is blocked/never been cleaned/changed ? then the symptoms of indicator bag full light will come on you can remove and wash filter if it is gauze typ? dry and refit then try vacuuming ? or replace filter they are not expensive usually in pack of 3 in uk DO NOT RUN VAC WITHOUT THIS FILTER FITTED ! or you will have some dust in the room ? hope this helps?

Shuts off after a minute or so and comes back on and shuts down in 20 seconds

Sounds like it is over heating do to a dirty filter. Or there is something blocking the air flow in the vacuum.

Bag was full, changed it, the unit now turns off

Try dialing the control valve to the mid way position. If the unit still shuts down with the bag full light on you have a damaged control valve under the dial on the top of the vac.
This valve failure is common in this model and can only be repaired by someone with original AERUS Electrolux repair parts, generally at an AERUS repair shop.

Electrolux Epic 6500SR Full Bag sensor working, Does not Reset properly

The problem was a sticking switch that was not being reset. The vacuum on/off switch mechanism is comprised of two switches. One is the main switch that turns the vacuum on and off. The second is a shut off switch that gets tripped when the full bag sensor is engaged. This second switch is supposed to get reset when you push the on/off switch on the outside of the machine. The full bag shutoff switch was stiff and it, therefore, was taking a couple of presses of the on/off switch to move the shutoff switch back into the running position.
