They do this as a matter of course. its a poorly designed vacuum. Hoover doesnt exist any more, it is actually a dirt devil
after years in the vac repair business, i reccommend that you look at panasonic the next time

Check for clogs in the hose and suction path. Replace bag and filters. The vac is designed to turn off when over heated.

Same problem here, after 1 month of use, it just wont suck on the bottom side, the hose works correctly with the accessories, but the bottom wont suck, the brush works fine by the way. I removed the hood checked the inside, looked for clogs and nothing.

When i move the switch up,the motor doesn't start. its a turbopower 52oo .is there a rod that activates the switch? for the last 2 uses it ran as soon as it was plugged in.

the rod on those are so flimsy when the switch gets old it gets stiffer to operate and the rod just bends away. replace the switch and it will fix the problem.

Hoover vacuum cleaner indicators stuck

the sensor is located in the tube that the bag mounts to, if you take the bag off of the unit and have an air compressor handy you can blow out the port hole this should dislodge the particulates that are causing the false reading, there is defintely a clog in the system. let me know if this helps thanks Don the Vacuum Doctor Alb, N.M.

Sensor wont go to green

Try cleaning the dirt sensor. It's usually located where the bag connects to the vacuum. Take the bag off and clean the inside of the tube that goes into the bag with a damp cloth.
