Question about Rinnai RHFE-431FAIII 16,700 BTU Direct Vent Furnace Energy Saver Heater - Natural Gas
I set it at low and it kjust keeps running. Just started doing this - not shutting off when it hits the temo it is set at
Remove the top section of the heater. You will notice at the lower Right Hand of the back of the heater a small black plastic bulb with a yellow wire. This is the sensor fot the unit. Take a microwavable bean bag and heat it up in the microwave to a temperature a little greater than your body temperature. Place the bag on the bulb and then try and start the heater. If the heater does not start, your sensor is working but may need to be relocated. If it still runs, call a technician.

THESE HEATERS HAVE A COPPER COLORED REMOTE SENSING BULB THAT HAS TO BE MOUNTED IN THE AIR FLOW. THEY ARE ONLY HELD ON WITH 2 CLIPS AND CAN BE KNOCKED OUT OF POSITION ... TAKE OFF THE FRONT COVER AND MAKE SURE THE BULB IS IN THE PROPER MOUNTING POSITION.
