SOURCE: how to wire a towbar to a renault laguna ? what

Hi there,

If you have the Renault end, I've got the rest. I have the pinouts for 7 wire, 6 Wire and 4 Wire, One of them will fit the bill

Plug Types/Application
7 Way - RV Trailers, Horse and Utility Trailers
6 Way - Horse, Stock and Utility
4 Way - Utility Trailers

Columns are: Color, Function, Mark on the plug.

Seven wire Trailer plugs:

Horse, stock or utility trailers:

White = Ground - 1
Blue = Electric Brakes - 2
Brown = Tail and clearance lights - 3
Black = Battery, aux power - 4
Yellow = Left turn/Brake - 5
Green = Right turn Brake - 6
Orange or Purple (not both) = Auxilliary or Reverse - 7

Recreational Vehicle:
White = Ground - 1
Blue = Electric2_bing.gif Brakes - 2
Green = Tail and clearance lights - 3
Black = Battery, aux power - 4
Red = Left turn/Brake - 5
Brown = Right turn Brake - 6
Yellow = Auxilliary or Reverse - 7

Six wire trailer plugs:

Horse, stock or utility trailers:
White = Ground - GD
Yellow = Left turn/Brake -LT
Green = Right turn Brake -RT
Brown = Tail and clearance lights - TM
Red or Black (not both) = Battery2_bing.gif, aux power - A
Blue = Electric Brakes - S

Recreational Vehicle: (color, use, plug mark)
White = Ground - GD
Brown = Right turn Brake - RT
Green = Tail and clearance lights -TM
Black = Battery, aux power - A
Red = Left turn/Brake - LT
Blue = Electric Brakes - S

Four wire plugs:
White = Ground
Yellow = Left turn/Brake
Green = Right turn Brake
Brown = Tail and clearance lights

Ground should be 10ga.
Others 14 ga

A test light and a 12VDC power source can be handy for trouble shooting
.
Best regards

Where is location of blower resistor on renault master 3 van ?

a renault on a jeep forum? really.
we dont have renaults.
but here is a generic answer.
if it even has one, it's air cooled, (it must be, or gets $$$$) and
is located on most cars. on the blower housing, in fact the blower
fan cools it. (its a wire wound resistor , i even repair them (directly)
just look for it there, and Bingo.

What colour fuse is the cigarette lighter in a renault twingo

The best solution is to take it to the garage as no one seems to know the colour or value of the cigar lighter fuse in my 2011 Renault twingo pizaz so replacement will be a case of pulling each one in turn until the right one comes to light

Hi, In my Renault master bake light are not working as well tail lights i have checked bulbs wiring and fuses, i have checke brake switch as well, any clue what that may be?

  • When all brake lights fail this is a master brake light switch failure. It needs replaced. Not sure how you check the switch but I can say it needs replaced. Down where the steering wheel bolts to the floorboard, then just barely off to the right is the switch you need to replace.

  • Renault had lots of issues with this and if your car is under warranty then you should heave the dealership replace this for free.

  • See diagram

  • Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa.

Wiring diagram and colour codes for an 2004 renault trafic towbar electrics

All of the wires you need are on a plug inside the left corner post behind a grommet behind the reverse light. The wires you need are best tested with a test lamp to identify them as there are wires with the same colours that have different functions, but if you put the lights on one at a time you can identify them with the test lamp

Fitting instructions for the towbar electics on a Renault Trafic 2006

Behind the left reversing light is a grommet that you can put the towbar wire through, and just behind this is a large black connector, this has all the wires for the towbar, unfortunately there are several wires of the same colour that do different things, best use a test lamp on each one as you connect them. The indicators are "self monitoring" so you do not need a buzzer or light on the dash to tell you that the trailer is working, when you indicate with the trailer connected the ticking sound of the indicators changes to a pinging sound.
