My camera wont turn on even with new batteries. how do i fix this, and how much is it to fix? where should i take it to get it fixed? is there a reason why this happened?

If the camera is dead then the only realistic solution is to chuck it away and replace it. Before doing so, just make sure that the camera's battery contacts are clean and bright, but that's about the limit of what can be done for it.

35mm Canon Rebels/EOS triple digit models are quite literally worthless. They were designed and manufactured very cheaply for Canon by Kodak and were never designed with repairs in mind; the expectation was that the user would upgrade to a "proper" Canon model before the unit wore out after the five year design lifespan. Many used camera buyers are therefore aware that any functional 35mm Rebel/EOS triple digit is on borrowed time and that spare parts are generally unavailable and so when they do sell the price is usually for any lenses or other accessories which come with the camera rather than for the body itself.

It's not all bad news though: being worthless means you can get them for free on your local FreeCycle/Freegle groups, although you may need to check often and be patient.

Canon EOS 630 Will not power up

Well.. the EOS 630 is a really old camera.. they don't last forever.

First thing I would recommend... test the new battery with a volt meter or battery tester, just to make sure it didn't die on the shelf. Or try another one, just to be sure.

Next, check the battery contacts, preferably under a magnifier. You could have corrosion, or a bent contact, that might be preventing contact with the battery.

Assuming none of those work, you have a more complex problem. It certainly might be fixable, but you'd want a good repair tech to take a look at it. However, that's probably a bad idea.. they charge by the hour for actual repairs. You can find a working EOS 630 on eBay these days for under $30, sometimes with accessories. I wouldn't spend much money trying to fix this, but a few checks around the battery area are a good idea.

Best way to handle this would be to get a manual and take apart the unit and monitor how much current the units drawing as when off Im thinking it shouldnt draw anything. Or call here and ask about a repair cost. Good luck Main support number1 800 828-4040
