20FP420T FP lock on and can't select input no remote?

Do you mean the 20F420T? RCA doesn't have a 20FP420T as far as I can tell.

Unfortunately, you can't turn off the Front Panel (child lock) without a remote. All of the front panel Power button to turn off the set but not to turn it on. You need a remote that matches the Menu function. Press Menu, then use the Ch+/Ch- buttons to select Preferences. Press OK then press Ch+/Ch- to highlight FPA lock. Use the Vol+/Vol- buttons to toggle the lock function on or off. (Off lets the front panel work normally) Then press Menu repeatedly to exit the menus. A substitute remote can be obtained here: http://www.remotes.com/remotes/servlet/rs?a=Search&o=c&uid=0&m=20F420T&uuid=12994577706920 . This is guaranteed to work with the 20F420T . Most universal remotes should also work as long as they were programmed after 2006.

The manual for the 20F420T is available here: http://support.ttetech.com/RCATV/NewTV/Templates/SupportDownloads.aspx?NRMODE=Published&NRORIGINALURL=%2fen-us%2fproductdownloads.html&NRNODEGUID={35D79B02-4AAE-4834-BFD0-1124EA501FA2}&NRCACHEHINT=NoModifyGuest . Fill in the drop down menus for 20" and the model.

I hope this helps.

MY R.C.A. MODEL 20F420T WILL NOT STAY ON. TURN IT ON IT MAY STAY ON 3 SECONDS TURNS IT SELF OFF TRY AGAIN IT MAY STAY ON 2 SECONDS BACK OFF THANK YOU ????

The first couple of seconds of operation, most TVs are doing some self-test and if something has failed making full power on dangerous (for fire) they will shut down. Either a major component in the horizontal section has failed or the main power supply itself is defective.
