I have a v3xx and while i'm looking around inthe menu or texting or anything the screen will just go black like it is trying to reboot or something. It doesn't happen all the time but almost everytime. What do I need to do?

I have the same problem! It is really irritating, and at times I can't even make or receive phonecalls on it! Mine is with AT&T, and they have done pretty much nothing to help me, other than to tell me to remove the back, take out the battery then put it back in and turn it on. I have done that thousands of times, and now it is to the point that the backlight on the keyboard stays on constantly, and it freezes up if I attempt to send a text, or pretty much anything I do. I've been told this model phone has had some problems, but you'd think that someone would try to correct the problem!! My cell phone is like my lifeline - everyone calls my cell. Any suggestions on what to do (other than sling the phone out the window - LOL) would be much appreciated.

That seems to be a common problem with the Razr. i wound up taking mine into a ATT warranty repair center and was told after waiting several minutes that this is a defect with the Razr and that my phone would need to be replaced. thankfully it was in warranty still.

Black square on screen

Look both in the set's menu and that of a box if used; Under closed captions in either place look for a setting labeled TEXT, that is what is bringing up the black box, feature never really used much, find TEXT in either set menu or box menu if you use one, either place can cause this, not a problem just the text feature is on. Turn it off with the remote.

My JVC model AV-20F476 has a black-out box that covers most of the bottom half of the screen.

Go into menu and under CLOSED CAPTIONS look to see if TEXT is engaged---if it is set to text 1 turn it off or to text 2,3,4, etc

Text was a feature never really used but it is there, some cable boxes also have this setting/feature.

Let me know if you have questions.

There is a big square on my television and it is locked. How do i unlock it?

If it is a black box in the middle of the screen it should only appear on certain channels.

Go to closed captions either on the set or a box if you are using one; black box is usually TEXT, something designed to send text like books etc but it never really did take off.

Look in set and box menu under CC and if TEXT 1 is highlighted in either, turn it off or select something other than TEXT !.

If this told you something you did not know rate this solution as very helpful as I do this here for free.

If you have questions or need help, comment here and I will assist you.

How to increase text size when running laptop and % icon does not show in lower right right hand corner of screen

To change the text size you will need to right click on a blank part of the screen/desktop so you get display properties or click start then settings then control panel then display. When you get that window up you can click on the appearance tab along the top. In this window along the lower left is font size. You can increase the size of the font by clicking on the box then selecting the size you want. This will change the size of the font as soon as you click on apply. This only changes menu text sizes.

To change everything overall you want to click on the settings tab then the advanced button lower right. It should come up to the window we want but if not it is under the general tab. Under DPI settings (sometimes will show as text size or font size but all are the same setting) the default is set to 96 try selecting the 120 size. This will increase the size of the text used. You can also select custom and enter any number. You will probably have to reboot the computer after changing this unless you have it in the section below to apply without restarting. Hit apply and reboot if required and your text will now all be bigger. If the text is too much bigger than stock some programs or windows may not look right or the text is not aligned. Thats typical if the text is too big or the window it is in is a fixed size and can't change. If this happen you can try the custom setting to find a bigger size that won't cause problems.

You can also use the visually impaired utilities one of which is a magnifier. That just enlarges an area around the mouse so it isn't quite as easy for daily use.

I'm stumped on the % icon thing. What normally is there is the clock. Unless this is a icon that shows battery charge or something like that? You can usually get these to display again by starting the utility from the start menu - all programs and then look for a setting that says display on toolbar.

A black box is covering half of screen

Look in the menu for the "captions" heading. Once in the closed captions, turn off the "text" heading. This text mode is putting up the black box on the tv

That's the text box function of the closed caption decoder. Look for buttons with "CAP", "TEXT","CCD", or "CLOSED CAPTION". Look in menu for same.

Screen lock up

if by lock up it reverts back to either the menu or your wallpaper, it's a software problem and you should reboot it or check for a virus. you need software to do this or go to your provider.
