Monitor has a blank screen When monitor is powered on it displays normally for about 3 seconds and then goes all black. You can power it on and off over and over and it will display correctly for 3 seconds and then go black.

It sounds like a backlight problem either the bulbs or the inverter.

Why does screen go black after a few seconds

Hope this helps.... Your monitor has an inverter issue. You know it's an inverter problem when:
1. Your monitor starts normally and displays the startup/desktop screen for a while.
2. Then it suddenly goes off, leaving a blank (black) screen or a very dim display.

To fix this black screen problem, change the inverter board (based on your monitor brand).

Recently when I boot up my computer I get the monitor to display an image for about 2 seconds and then it goes to a black screen. if I unplug the monitor from the back of the computer and plug it back in,...

The capacitors for the power source are failing. This causes a short burst of power to get to the lamps, but then they cannot hold a charge to continuously power the lamps. You will have to replace the monitor. I suggest checking your warranty status and replacing the monitor.

Black screen

• 1) TAKE OUT YOUR LAPTOP BATTERY
• 2) REMOVE YOUR AC ADAPTOR CORD, that's the wall power, remove it.
• 3) NOW HOLD DOWN THE POWER BUTTON FOR 30 SECONDS.

That will drain any static electricity that has built up on your laptop system board and many times fixes the problem of a black screen. After the 30 seconds re-connect your laptop to the wall power and hit the power button normally and see if the laptop comes back up.

Replace your battery.
Restart!

It switches on for just a second and then the screen stays blank

yetimonsta, Are you sure that the monitor is BLANK?? Or is it just BLACK? Or is it both BLANK and BLACK? Connect a known good monitor to your pc to prove that your pc is working correctly. What does your L90D+ do when connected to good pc. Have you done the flashlight test to evaluate the state of the "switch-mode-power-supply" when lcd panel goes black /blank?? Monitor goes blank after 3 seconds -Samsung SyncMaster 920NW

Could be a power issue. If it doesn't show anything at all then that may be the case. It may also be the display itself. It would be a costly repair so you might be better off finding a new monitor.

Blank HP w1907

If the power light does not turn color and stay's green on startup, it is not a power problem. It is most likely the inverter. If the unit is in warranty, send it out ASAP. Contact HP customer care by email and have the issue logged in.
If in warranty, they will send you a box by FedX second day and have repaired.
This is a 19" monitor and will not be worth paying for repairs if not in warranty.
