First verify 220 volts to the range where the cord connects. Second, unplug the range and remove the element again and using a volt/ohm meter set for ohms or continuity check the element. No reading is a bad element. Third, if power is OK and the element reads continuity check for power in at the oven control in the control panel. Set for Bake and check power Out of the oven control. No power out is a bad element. If the control is OK,remove the oven temperature sensor and with the meter check for 1100 ohms +or- 25 ohms. If not correct, replace the temp sensor.
hi!!! All you have to do is go and buy a new heating bake element..turn off the power to the oven by the home breaker..then move the oven away from the wall and remove the back panel screws and look for the baking element it has 2 wires going into it.Very easy to fix..good luck..
oh bleep, right? well, if you're lucky this will get you going again. 1. disconnect power to range. 2. remove back metal cover just above range power cord (usually 5 quarter inch hex screws) 3. look for burnt off wire leading to/from bake element. If yes, 4. strip ends of broken wire and splice with ceramic wire nut if no 4. bad news. replace ERC (electronic range control) you fried something on the board. It's got the clock display and all the electronics behind it.
funny same thing just happened to me and it all seams to be the bottom element of the same ovens around the same year, I bought mine in 99 also, I keep my oven very clean becasue i know the dangers it may cause, I think this is a major problem and it needs to be addressed.
