Oven element on fire

Oven element caught of fire. I assume the element is bad and can be replaced.  Is that correct.

Yes that's a common problem. but not because there was a fire on top of the element it mean that is bad. have you try the oven after the fire?

If element caught on fire, I would suspect stove needs cleaning. Do that then elements should not smoke for long. (I hope all moisture was removed from stove!!!)

Is it a common problem for the element to catch fire? The element in the pyrolytic oven caught fire when switched on for cooking.


Lets say it is not unusual for elements to fail.
Only solution obviously, is to replace it..Hope this helps with your query.

Hi.
You are quite correct in saying that a new element will solve the problem.
It is usually located at the rear of the oven compartment behind a removeable cover.

funny same thing just happened to me and it all seams to be the bottom element of the same ovens around the same year, I bought mine in 99 also, I keep my oven very clean becasue i know the dangers it may cause, I think this is a major problem and it needs to be addressed.
