Question about Whirlpool 25.6 cu. ft. Side-by-Side Refrigerator with In-Door-Ice Dispensing System
If it has an ice maker, the motor may be going out, so to find out, isolate the issue. Although first disconnect for 24 hrs. so to melt any frost away from moving parts; I believe you already have that covered. If still an issue, first re-disconnecting the power source, going to the back, removing any covering, finding the power source for the ice/water mechanism (usually on the right side or opposite the compressor), regardless it can't be missed. Disconnect the ice maker, and if the noise is gone, there you go. Reorder and replace the ice maker motor; a common issue due to constant use.
