This Stop message, also known as Stop 0x24, indicates that a problem occurred within Ntfs.sys (the driver file that allows the system to read and write to NTFS drives).

Resolving the ProblemDisk Corruption. Corruption in the NTFS file system or bad blocks (sectors) on the hard disk can induce this error. Corrupted SCSI and EIDE drivers can also adversely affect the systems ability to read and write to disk, thus causing the error.
Check Event Viewer for error messages from SCSI and FASTFAT (System Log) or Autochk (Application Log) that might help pinpoint the device or driver that is causing the error. Try disabling any virus scanners, backup programs, or disk defragmenter tools that continually monitor the system. You also need to run hardware diagnostics supplied by the system manufacturer. For details on these procedures, see the owners manual for your computer. Run Chkdsk /f /r to detect and resolve any file system structural corruption. You must restart the system before the disk scan begins on a system partition. If you cannot start the system due to the error, use the Recovery Console and run Chkdsk /r.

Error message stop 0x00000024

which operating system ?

If you get the Windows blue screen, you can determine which stop code you have and determine what you need to do in order to get your computer back to working correctly.

First, make sure that you have this error code - Stop 0x00000024 or NTFS_FILE_SYSTEM. This message shows that a problem occurred within Ntfs.sys, the driver file that allows the system to read and write to NTFS file system drives. One possible problem is a malfunctioning SCSI and Advanced Technology Attachment (ATA) hardware or drivers. This can also adversely affect the system's ability to read and write to disk, causing errors. If the computer is using a SCSI hard drive, check both for cabling and termination problems between the SCSI controller and the disks. You will need to periodically check the Event Viewer for error messages related to SCSI or FASTFAT in the System log. You can also use Autochk in the Application log. Try the following. First, Double-click My Computer, select the hard disk you want to check. Then, on the File menu, click Properties. Then, click the Tools tab. Next, in the Error-checking box, click Check Now.
Finally, in Check disk options, select the scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors check box. You can also select the Automatically fix file system errors check box.

Blue Screen problem that wont go away!!

If you cannot boot in Safe Mode (the F8 option), then check around to see if a friend or neighbor has a copy of the Microsoft Win XP CD (make sure it's the same version as what is on your machine if it is Pro, Media Center 2002, etc). Boot form that CD and select the option to repair your current installation.

Blue screen with error codes

That is probably a disk error, related to the NTFS file system.
Did you try a "chkdsk /f" command to check and fix the disk?

Microsoft has more information on it in the knowledge base.

Won't boot

Here is the cause, and I think you will have to re-install the operating system. Not knowing your machine model number, I have no idea if the operating system recovery is imbedded in the hard drive or not.

If you receive a blue Dell line across the top of the screen during power up, press F11 to see if you can get into the recovery mode. If so, just follow the instructions.
