Question about Bose 35503 Remote Control

1 Answer

I have just received a older Bose radio, no CD player, with remote. The radio works nicely but the remote doesn't. I tested in with a cell phone camera and found that the IR light is on constantly (until the batt expires of course) Can this be fixed?

I determined the remote needed to be replaced and have done so. I also did not realize that your site wanted to charge 20$ to participate or I would not have bothered you in the first place.

Tip

Simple Test to Check Domestic Remotes

The easiest way to check if your infrared remotes are working is to take an AM / FM Radio, Put it in AM/MW mode and tune it to around 630KHz. Turn up the volume and take the remote very close to the radio and press any button on the remote. You will hear streaming blips ( like from an old science fiction movie soundtrack ). This sound indicates the remote is transmitting signals.<br /> This test is no good for radio frequency remotes like the one which you get with the BOSE lifestyle system.

Any replacement remotes are going to be the newer remotes. What type receiver do you have and the model number of the remote? You will need to address the remote to your receiver if it doesn't work now and program the remote to your TV. Please let me know. Thanks.

I own Wave Redio/CD. My new remote is Wave Music System and does not work. Why not?

The Bose Wave Radio and Wave Music System use different IR codes. It is no other reason other than Bose made the remotes incompatible. This is often done to prevent interferance with systems that may be close to each other.

My bose remote for my lifestyle48 only works from really close up? I was lead to believe they work from any room in the house... what's wrong?

The Bose Lifestyle 48 remote is RF device and is rated to work up to 65 feet (20m) away from the system (brick, steel, etc. construction will reduce this distance significantly however). The remote is discussed in two places of the installation manual.

The first speaks to the receiving antenna on page 16 in the form of a "Note" below section 4G. It states that both of the power cords (one between the VS2 and Media Center the second that supplies power to the VS2) need to be fully extended. Wrapping up excess cable will reduce the receiving range of the system to the remote transmitter.

The second location is at the bottom of page 29. Here, it offers the solution to poor remote performance to be an optional "remote extender" that looks like it connects to the rear of the system (RC connector?). The extender is available for an additional cost and you must contact Bose to obtain it. I can't find an image of it and Bose doesn't produce any information about it when searching their website.

I hope this helps and good luck! Please rat emy reply - thanks.

I cannot turn my radio on. CD`s work ok, but can`t change volume. Love my Bose! Please help!

Hi,

This seems to be a hardware failure. It sounds like a blown regulator with filter caps which is a common failure on older unit.If you are a Technician I could go through skiz with you to repair if not your better off sending for repair to

http://www.myboserepair.com/

Rather than repairing it yourself, would advise to send it to Bose. They might repair it with a flat rate of $99.

I am sorry, i do not have a better solution. But, it's better to be honest.

Good Luck!!

Thanks!!

My bose wave radio II remote is not working. I

It will work without the remote, but can ve very unconfortable. If you have a webcam or digital camera or cell phone with camera, then point it to the small lamp in front of the remote and press any button. If the light blinks or keeps on, then the problem may be on the radio receptor. If light is dark, then take it to an electronics store an ask for an INFRARED LED DIODE replacement. This should work well.
