SOURCE: Shrinking picture..

Vertical circuit problem. VERY common on Mitsubishi sets for past 30 years. The capacitors are getting weak. Have it checked out, aslong as the picture was good and clear before the problem. That just means the tubes are still O.K. Mitsubishi's ALL have bad capacitors all over them. Been like that for ever. If you wait too long, the caps will leak onto the circuit board and "eat" the circuit traces. It should be checked ALL over for bad caps and then have the convergance chips replaced with original sanyo made replacements.Very inportant! Take the time to find a good repairshop in your area. Talk to other people to see who they use. You're talking about $400.00 to do everything, but it will last for years after that. If you like the set, it's worth it. Just be honest to your-self when evaluating the quaility of picture you had and get a good repair shop. That's the best advise I can give you. Good-Luck.

Mitsubishi vs-60607 60" screen is

when picture is getting smaller in size or goes away or moves towards one side then hit your TV lightly on left side or right side or on top & then observe ..........you will get normal picture or it comes & again it goes....if it is happening like that then following is the situation..........after 4 or 5 yrs in some TVs on main board at some soldering joints crack develops....then due to loose contact picture becomes small in size or disappears ...........when we hit that lightly then those loose contacts joins temporarly & again picture appears for some time............so solution is ......TV main board should be observed carefully & most of the joints should be re-soldered.......only a good service engineer can do that........even after hitting TV lightly if there is no response then main board has to be checked completely........in your case iam sure it is loose connection problem.........joints should be re - soldered ...100% it works again................this problem cannot be solved by user unless user has idea about components( resisitors, transisitors, diodes,...etc) , have soldering iron , multimeter & other tools....................so contact good TV service engineer

TV screen shrinking from top to bottom.

My Dearest, j30;

It sounds like you have a problem in the 9 volt circuit which feeds the vertical output ciruit; CHECK C2P05 100 UFD 16 V OFF PIN 3 OF IC2P01 AND IC2P01 PART # 270P466020 (9-VOLT REGULATOR). BOTH ARE ON THE SIGNAL PCB.
This is not a repair that a novice should try, but if you call a factory authorized service center and have them come out and give you an estimate; AND tell them what the problem is, you will look know what you are talking about!

Sound but no picture on a Mitsubishi VS-45VA2.

This is the VZ1 Chassis.. CHECK FOR 1200 VDC AT PIN 1 OF CONNECTOR "DK". IF LOW OR MISSING CHECK R5D9 100 OHM 1/2 OFF PIN 1 OF THE FLYBACK ON THE MAIN PCB. 2. CHECK IC401 PIN 8 FOR 28 VDC IF MISSING CHECK R510 1.2 OHM 1/2 W OFF PIN 5 OF THE FLYBACK. IF OPEN IC401 PART # 272P239 If those voltages check out let me know and we will go to the next level. Two other questions do you have video through the pip with the alternate input? and do you have on screen display when you push menu on the remote?
