My Honeywell EMM-3 zone controller system LED is flashing orange, indicating DAT fault. However I do not have any sensors hooked up.

Check to make sure your compressor is running fir the zone in question. DAT is a discharge air temperature reading that the unit uses to monitor itself. If you're sure you never had one, check the parameters and programming of your unit to make sure something didn't glitch and enable your DAT sensor

DT92E room stat appears to be very inacurate with its room tempreture, our normal room temp is about 22c we have to set the stat at 25c to get heat and the stat cuts out after a temp rise of 1c

All thermostat is calibrated @ difference of 2 cut in and cut off.
In heat mode, if you keep 25 and your room temp 23. it will start at the end of 24 or beginning of 25 degree.Cut off also @27 degree beginning. Please check Tips & how to do's in Fixya

My 1985 Kenmore furnace is not starting. It has a Honeywell DSI. There is a nice spark going on, but it seems no gas is coming in. (The water heater is connected to the same gas line, and it fires-up...

You need tools. You need to check if there is any open sensors not allowing electrical current to travel back to the gas valve and open up like normal. Turn the furnace on check to see if you hear the gas valve click if u here it click and no gas comes out you have a bad valve. But most likely its a sensor problem.

It is a discharge temperature sensor and should be located in the duct after the coil. It should be just before the bypass damper.

Switch it to auto. If it works, change the sub-base of the thermostat.

Honeywell t8601d showing a square symbol error - in past this has indicated low refrigerant. Tech came out, said need to replace thermostat, as compressor would not start, but if manually connected wires,...

There is a sensor that shuts the compressor down when the freon (refrigerant) is low. The tech probably "shorted" out this sensor. If the unit went on when he did this, the charge is low.
