Cleaning the black surface

Hi, I tried to clean my new Samsung black fridge with a paper towel and some glass cleaner and now there appears to be marks that I don't know how to get off of the surface. Any suggestions on what to clean the shiny black surface with to remove the marks? Thanks for the help.

Water in bottom of fridge

My fridge has a kind of plug hole low down at the back that has a sort of dipstick that helps to prevent blockages. If there has been no regular cleaning of this area, it can still get blocked. If yours is similar, first mop as much water out as you can, then pull this 'dipstick' out and give this a good wash with a bristle brush. Then turn your attention to the 'plug hole'. This will probably be a bit nasty, but use a combination of paper kitchen towels and a small round bristle brush that will go down this hole to clear it. Use a bit of no taint surface cleaning spray to eliminate the bacteria that would have been building up in that area.

How To Clean Stainless Steel Appliances

First do a quick wipe of the appliance with a gentle liquid dish detergent & water mix, dry with a clean towel. After washing you’ll likely see the smudges and marks still hanging in there. You can buff out each smudge with a lint-free towel and some pressure, but try one of these items instead to bring back the shine and quickly remove those pesky fingerprints and smudges:
  • Olive Oil (just a dab will do)
  • Mineral Oil (Baby Oil)–Just a dab will do
  • Club Soda (especially good for removing streaks and heat stains)
  • Rubbing Alcohol
  • Vinegar (great for polishing too)
Apply directly to a lint-free cloth and wipe down surface, follow up with a clean dry cloth to bring appliance to a mark-free shine.
  • Avoid using cleaners or cleaning tools that are abrasive since they can mar the surface (even some soft-scrubbing creams can cause damage).
  • When cleaning the surface, wipe down the appliances along the grain of the stainless steel for best results.
  • Don’t clean stainless steel with bleach (diluted or otherwise), this can damage the finish.
  • Don’t forget to open the refrigerator or oven door, you’ll likely see a mess of smudges along the edge of the door.

How do I remove the fan cover on my Siemens fridge freezer?

First, unplug power supply. If you can see the fan, brush any loose dust/debris into some plastic container for disposal then vacuum. From what info you provide, it appears access to fan blades may be from rear of refrigerator and may not be worth the effort to disassemble to clean. You might find that one of the many household multi-surface spray cleaners will adequately address problem. If not, the cleaner used for silk plants may work. Otherwise, find your product's service manual and follow its guidance for accessing the fan.

How do I clean the surface of my stainless steel refrigerator

Depends on what you're trying to clean off of the fridge. My husband uses carb cleaner to clean the inside of a dryer. Should work on the stainless steel as well. Spray it onto a microfiber cloth and try to clean it that way. I would also use some polish when finished. Hope this helps!!

Hi. Maytag Refrigerator freezer is not working at all, hence the fridge itself is not cooling whatsoever. Is it that it needs freon refill? or is it time for a new fridge, after 6 years?

You might want to try cleaning the coils on the back of the fridge. You can either use a brush or a vacuum cleaner with a brush attachment. A second possibility is that the defrost cycle is staying on. Try replacing the timer in the freezer section. If that doesn't help then the condenser is probably bad. In which case it's time for a new fridge.

The best way it to buy a coil brush and use your vacuum as you clean. A coil brush is long and skinny and can be bent to reach in tough spots. Some people will blow it out with an air compressor but it is very messy.

Cleaning finger prints off a high gloss black fridge

Get yourself a "microfiber" cleaning cloth. Search the web & you will find many suppliers online as well as cleaning guides. These cloths are indispensable for glass, TV & computer monitors as well. They are also environmentally friendly as you only need to use a little water with them (no cleaning agent) or even just dry.
