Sometimes you have to play around on the remote to find the right button,if you have a quit or exit button try those or if you have a input button try that.

Visit the site named 'Electro-help' for more details. Click this link. View it in "Timeslide" option, which can be selected from the drop down box menu by the [Sidebar] tag, at the top left corner of the display window. It will make search easy. There are more than 1000 posts to different brand TVs now. Pull up older posts there.

On your remote there should be a * (star) symbol. Press that and see if it goes away now.

If you cannot get the original remote or a more compatable aftermarket remote, you might try hooking up a VCR or Cable box to the auxiliary audio/video jacks and use that input while changing channels with the VCR/cableBox.

Panasonic

I do not have the details of this set but if you go to Google and type in the model number you can download the PDF file from sites, also there is a radio ameteur which specialises in Panasonic. From the faults reported it sounds like a bad soldered joint on a component which may be close to the AV inputs.
