Question about Nikon COOLPIX L4 Digital Camera

Many many problems

I haven't dropped the camera or anything, but about a week ago, a lot of problems are happening. -my camera wont transport any of my pictures onto the computer. -when i turn it on, it sometimes turns on normally, but some other times, it asks me to 'select a language/date and time' before i can take pictures. -when i look through my pictures on my camera, when i get to a certain image (just one picture) it freezes and all the buttons just stop working. -when i go through some of my pictures on my camera, some of them don't even appear and they say 'File contains no data'. i noticed it while i was taking pictures before, and all of the sudden it started acting really weird. i didnt drop it or anything. PLEASE, HELP.

This camera has had problems with the operations deck assy, this is the controller that inputs customer commands. Nikon is repairing many of these at little or no charge to the customer depending on the age of the camera. I would call them first to see if they will take care of this for you. Good Luck! If you turn off the LCD screen and use the viewfinder, same problem? Even with this wrong, are you try to take pics and see this in your pc? They are white or with some lines over image?

Two things there, first... could be a problem with the viewer screen, or, second choice could a problem CCD sensor go to bad; in both cases this isn't a job that you could solve yourself; this wrong include distorted images or abnormal colors, scratchy purple lines, blank or black pictures, and/or black videos with good sound being recorded on the camera's flash card.

I suggest check THIS LINK for additional details in this previous solutions for an Defective CCD (Charge Coupled Device) and next contact your Olympus service.
I strongly suggest (taking into consideration the age of your camera) to evaluate the cost of repair versus the cost of a new camera with similar features, before making a final desicion.

Keep in mind and check if even you are underwarranty, if yes, applied.

Hope this helps.

Sounds like you have a defective camera. You might want to take the camera back to the place you got it and get a replacement. You can try removing and reseating the batteries to fix the problem.

Cant upload all photos from my camera They are all the same size & format. The camera has not been dropped or anything. This problem stsrted a few weeks ago.

Possible solutions:
Remember you need to turn the camera on when transferring.
Try a different USB outlet
Try a different cable
Try a different computer.

The card that you currently have might be faulty.
Format the card, note this will erase all pictures currently stored on the card.
Please also try another card.

Won't take picture though I replaced battery.

Even though it was cushioned somewhat the camera took enough damage to jam something. The flashing symbols are a generic error code it could mean the shutter, zoom, film transport, flash, or some combination of these system are not working (sorry but without tearing the camera apart I can't narrow the problem any further)

I would try to replace the usb cable, but it sounds more like a software problem not the camera. If the camera shuts off during transmission it will keep the pictures from transporting.

No It can be replaced for under 100.00 and you keep your camera. It is a pretty easy fix.

I cannot get my camera to connect to my computer

what operating system are you using? are you connected to the same USB port on your PC? You can always try a different USB port. Did anything happen to your camera between downloads (dropped it, battery issues, etc.)?
