Question about Mitsubishi WD-62525 62" Rear Projection HDTV
I have had all major parts replaced over the past year. Just the other day the set took what seemed like 5 minutes to get the picture...last night no picture at all and same today. I turned the TV power source off and after an hour restarted. Now it shows I have a red light at the lamp diod. The lamp was replaced once about a year ago. I imagine the problem is with the lamp but shouldn't a new lamp last a few years? (If it is a lamp) This TV is used no more than 20 hours a week.
I am not sure what the problem is, but usually if a lamp is bad, the other 2 lamps will still function. Since you are getting no picture at all, I am thinking it is a circuit board problem. TV electronics are expected to last 3-5 years. After that, many components will start to go out one by one. If you have your tv repaired, I would replace the whole circuit boards instead of just the bad component. The power board is the #1 board I would replace 1st. This is the most stressed board and will cause most of your tv problems.
