I have a similar problem. I took my memory, which was working nicely, out of my AsRock M266A motherboard and put it in a next motherboard for testing. This other motherboard doesn't work for different reasons, but when I replaced the RAM into the AsRock motherboard I'm getting the 3 long beeps, which I know is associated with disfunctional or incompatible RAM. The motherboard is now rejecting all sticks of memory, even SD RAM which was previously used in it.

    Any suggestions would be helpful.

Your m/boar is now not supporting the ddr which you are putting in, so you have to replace your ddr with Kingston DDR it'll solve the problem

Asrock K7S41GX "NEW" does not work :bip-bip-bip

3 beeps is a memory error. remove the memory and put it in the first slot.
also the memory replacement calls for ddr pc2700.

Bad graphic

Your motherboard only supports AGP. You can use any AGP graphics card that supports up to 4X AGP. nVidia and ATI make great cards as well as other manufacturers that mak boards using nVidia and ATI chipsets. I would recomend a card with at least 512MB of memory onboard. I hope this helps.

RE: mother board not going on

Hi marlonvig, what type of memory (PC3200? or PC2700) memory are you using? What type in which slot?

The decription (In you're manual), refering to you're memory can be confusing.
You're manual says you can use up to 1GB of
PC3200 DDR400MHz only in Slot 1.
If you add DDR400MHz into slot 2. The board will not support it. (weird)!
If you want to reach 2GB of memory. You must use PC2700 (DDR333)MHz. 2x1GB PC2700 = 1GB DIMMS in both DIMM 1 & 2. You're board does not support DDR2 type memory.

Need you're manual? Download it from this link. Click on it.

Asrock's home page for you're 775VM800 board.

Can asrock m266a support geforce 8600gt

Dear hiran89

Please see the specification of your motherboard at the following link of Asrock. It supports only up to AGP 4x.

http://www.asrock.com/mb/overview.asp?Model=M266A

The 8600GT GPU does not come in AGP setups only PCI-Express. In general even if you were to have this card then the rest of your system would bottleneck the capabilities of the card.

My advice is to buy something more suited to the system you own such as a RADEON RX2600PRO, GEFORCE 7600GT,..but still these may be still more than the system deserves right now.

Saying this the most powerfull graphics card now in AGP are the ones below

GEFORCE 7900GS, 512MB DDR3
ATI HD 3850, 512MB GDDR3
