Question about Panasonic KX-P2023 Matrix Printer

Not printing on last copy

We use four part carbon paper and the print will not show up on the last copy. We have two of these printers and it is only happening on one of them.

My guess is it?s probably the print head. These things are designed to print on single sheets so even though it?s probably well within specs it still doesn?t have enough force to push an image to the last page. Less likely but never the less a possibility this could also be caused by inconsistent paper in the two boxes. Continuous feed, multi-part forms in a box are made by several manufacturers and have different characteristics. -You might try flipping the box of forms from the printer that works to the one that doesn?t just to make sure it?s not the forms. When I used to use multipart forms we would place orders for several boxes of the same form and occasionally some would be from a different manufacturer. The paper looked the same but the characteristics were way different. By the way we tried to do four-part but could never print beyond three part forms. Our fix was that we decided we only needed one in-house copy. -If the problem doesn?t follow the paper then I would suspect the print head. Panasonic print heads are fairly easy to replace and fairly inexpensive so I would try changing it out. With a lot of use the print heads do wear out so even if this doesn?t solve this problem you?ll have a spare when your vertical characters start looking wavy?. When typing on carbonized paper, doesn't seem to be striking hard enough. When typing on regular paper, print is fine

I suppose you are using carbonized paper to obtain 2 copies... Then probably the first sheet of paper you are using (the one over the carbon paper) is too thick. I remember that when one wanted to make copies, it was important to use thin paper or the copy (the page under the carbonized paper) would appear too pale. Try with a thinner paper, especially as the paper used in printers and photocopiers is stronger than the one that was produced for typewriters.

Preprinted 4 part paper crunching up when being printed in epson lq680 printer

The printer is not meant to use multi-copy carbon invoices. The cause of your problem is the double-feed prevention pad below the paper pickup roller. When the first form is fed, the double feed prevention pad will stop multiple paper feeds. With multi-page carbons, the paper feed roller is trying to feed the form, and is pulling the top page of the form into the feed rollers while the double-feed prevention pad is stopping the bottom form from feeding and the top and bottom pages are sliding because of the carbon paper between the sheets. The only solution that I know of is to buy a printer with a tractor feed and pre-printed fan-fold forms with tractor feed strips on the sides of the forms.

Canon Pixma iP 6600D printing problem.. went to print a scanned document .... paper began to feed in askew from autopaper feeder . Printing process stopped. the process was repeated a couple more times...

To fix the paper feed problem, Clean / rub each roller with a damp cloth with a dab of detergent.
Check for paper residue , especially near the paper empty flag,
Then reset the printer:
First power off the printer. Next, while holding STOP/RESET button, power on the printer.
While holding POWER button, release STOP/RESET button. Then push STOP/RESET button twice.
Wait about 20-30 second until the LED shows "0?. Then push STOP/RESET button four times.
Finally push POWER button twice. Last step is to turn off the printer by pressing the POWER button one last time.

If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it and give a testimonial for my response. Happy Holidays!

Thanks, Joe

My Kodak esp 3200 won't print labels on Avery label pages. WILL print the labels on regular copy paper. Any suggestions on what to do?

I am having the same problem except you didn't address the problem. It's not that the printer prints badly, jams or crashes. The printer literally passes the label paper through the printer and then prints on the next piece of copy paper. I reset my printer not to print the last page first and it still did it. Then I put the label paper second in the feeder. It passed through the first piece of copy paper and the
labels and printed on the third. It's like the printer senses the thicker paper and skips it. My printer is a Kodak ESP C315 and I have no setting for thick paper only plain and photopapers.

6-part NCr paper form being used. Pages 1 and 2

This is a problem with your paper. Using multi-part forms on an impact printer will get lighter print on each layer working from the top form to the bottom. The "carbon" paper has to impact the paper hard enough to make the marks. If your top and bottom copies look good but some in the middle are light it is a problem with the "carbon" paper and not the printer.
Now IF the top page is light and each copy under that is getting lighter then you need to close your platen gap (the lever on the right side of the machine mark A B C) go one click at a time (darkening) until the print quality looks good (or you go too far and it pinches the paper and jams *not good*)

My printer not printing at all- paper just rolling out with scant

if you haven't used the printer for a while before you discovered the bad print quality, the print head has most probably completely dried out. i don't think there is anything you can do about that, except for replacing it better having it replaced by an authorised technician.

HP Officejet J5780 All-in-one Injet prints a grey line down the right side of the page when copying using the automatic document feeder. It does not show up when printing; and it does not show up when...

lift the feed area and look at the small glass plate where the auto feed paper is actually scanned. That needs a good cleaning. Since the paper runs across it even a tiny little obstruction such as paper left from a paper jam or a dot of ink from that pen you used to unstick that last paper jam (maybe its just me??). That one dot turns into a line when the paper rolls across it. Clean well and the line will dissappear.

Does not print

eratliff, As someone mentioned on one of my last responses "have you checked to see if the rollers roll. Using latex/rubber glove make sure the rollers are moving." What was the last thing the printer did before it wouldn't print? Was there a paper jam? or even just a small piece of paper stuck in the rollers. Have you uninstalled all the printer drivers and make sure any copies of the printer is deleted from printer properties. Go to this site: and download and install the latest and greatest drivers. Also make sure your machine is up to date. Otherwise you may need ot take it in or... Good Luck Tim
